Drilling help for my pioneer
« on: April 26, 2005, 05:54:33 AM »
ok knowing that morich cores are unlike any other i need help...heres my basic line up....

Labyrinth drilled straight up with the pin located above the fingers and the cg directly below it...no hole...this ball just flat out hooks and never quits

Shock And awe drilled with the Pin next to ring finger, MB on VAL. X-hole 5" through CG from Center-Of-Grip...ball goes long and makes a hell of a left turn

I also have an ultimate inferno which is good for medium conditions....very rolly and controlable

Now to the pioneer i would like it to fit under all this...i know naturally its weaker as far as i know but how should i lay this ball out

I was thinking putting the pin above the middle finger and the cg underneath this would place everything to the left of my center of grip (im RH) i track pretty low so this would put my pin about 5"+ from my PAP something like this--

o-----pin
O O

c-----cg

 O

so what type of reaction would this give me and would this be a good choice...or should i consider something else maybe the rico drilling everyone is raving about

Thanks in advance guys...any advice is appreciated!

I have a pioneer drilled almost like you are describing. This is close to Mo's control drilling for the Pioneer, and it works well on medium to dry lanes. The MB will be on the left side of the thumbhole. My Pioneer goes fairly long with this drilling, but still has a decent back end. However, with this drilling, the ball will not react very well to carrydown. My ball will skate when carrydown takes over. Go to Mo's website and look up the drillings for the Pioneer. I think that there are 3 illustrated.

thanks for the insight PopPop...i did check out the drillings for the pioneer on the website before i posted and saw what you were talking about with the control drilling i was just trying to modify it cause i track somewhat lower than "normal" i guess...and as for the carydown issues im not worried about that my labyrinth eats carydown for breakfast lol...anyone else have drilling suggestions?
