Seek and Destroy issue HELP!

I made the terrible mistake of using aborlon on one of my Seek and Destroys and it is terrible now no hook at all just a pile of smoldering crap on the lane. I bought a green scotch brite pad and will set about taking the aborlon off tonight but I have a problem. My Pro shop owner doesn't have the proper pads to bring the ball back to box finish (1500 smooth) once I get the aborolon off what should I have him do to make the ball something close to Box finish?

What do you mean, get the Abralon off? Abralon pads do not put anything on the ball, except for surface. Did you use it wet or dry and did you clean the ball good after you sanded it?


I use Abralon on all my MoRich balls. Never had a problem.....

A used Abralon 1000 pad should get closer to 1500.

Maybe on of the compound finishes to end at 1200-1500 smooth... Ebonite has their matte finish compound.. Track has/had their clean n sheen compound.  One of these could be placed directly overtop of the abralon finish.  In my experience, Abralon pads seem to leave the surface "smoother" than corresponding wet sanding...  so a 1000 grit abralon finish looks and reacts closer to a 1500 or 2000 grit sandpaper...
