I know it's a rough buff compound but what grit is it OOB?

220 then rough buff is what the AI and VZ from Brusnwick are... I'm not 100% if Mo stuck with the base grit being 220.

Wow, I was expecting something around 1000. I may hit it with 1000 and then some more rough buff before I throw it.

I think a light scuff with an old grey pad can get close to the OOB, but that's just an opinion... I haven't tested it.

I got info directly from MoRich (I wondered the same when I bought my S&A): They told me that the S&A is OOB not perpeared with Rough Buff, but with another compound (probably a 3M stuff).
But you can use Rough Buff to get close to it: sand the ball to 600 grit, then apply Rough Buff with a little added water, that's what I have been told. I had my S&A recently re-done this way, and it is a very good match, even though OOB the ball looks a touch more glossy. Nevertheless, recation is back to normal.

I just picked one of these up for a whopping $30 bucks today. This will be the balls 4th drill, but all of the plug work is in about the same area. Very low mileage as well.
So far I like it. Driller finished it with 1000 and a light application of Rough Buff.
