His seminar in Mokena was a blast once again. He was all riled up this time. I guess he got wind of the Hammer guys saying that spin times mean nothing at their seminar. Oh he ripped into them and their No Mercy. I speak my mind pretty freely, but I don't know how confident I could be rippin on one of the hottest balls on the market right now. I know why they marked the intermediate bias, but that axis through the ball does not have the affect in ball motion that the perferred spin axis(now known as the "line of most resistance") has. Anyway, I drlled up the Awesome Revs already. I went with 3" pin to PAP and 5" mb to PAP described as the asymmetrical flip drilling with the most continuation. We'll see how it rolls tonight!

There is still a PSA, though. Notice that the suggested layouts have the HART on the negative side of the ball, and therefore, the PSA which is 90* from the HART is in the strong position. I was at first confused about this, but after talking to my driller and checking out what some of the better technical minds on this site have to say about the ball, it appears as though they have only changed the position of the cg in relation to the pin/psa. Generally think of it as though they have the cg around 90 degrees from a line that is drawn from the pin to the psa. It can vary to an extent as all pin outs do, but generally this is all that I've seen that they've done with this ball.

Right, the line from the pin to the intermediate bias is the line of least resistance, marking this is only affective because you know that the PSA is located 90 deg on both sides. The line of most resistance is the key to assymmetrical ball motion and that is between the pin and the PSA. As the PAP migrates towards this line it will not rev up easily, Rg increases. Once it crosses this line Rg decreases and the ball revs up easier. This explains why the PSA's distance from the VAL determines to ball motion. Marking the intermediate bias and keeping the cg in line is just a gimmick to keep the cg within 1" of the grip center and eliminates the weight hole. In all reality, the NO mercy is less versatile to drill because of this. Get one with the cg off to the left and tell me how you will adjust it if you're not getting the flare you want.

Tried it out tonight and the first ball of shadow balls barely wrinkled. I threw a second to make sure. I ran into the pro shop and one weight hole later I got the ball motion I was expecting. You can really see the ball rev up as ball speed slowed down. I saw this more in this than any other ball. I shoot 278 first game with a 4 and an 8 on the last shot. The second game was the worst of the transition and I left 4 ten pins and 2 nines while adjusting. Last game I made a big move left and decided to hit the ball. The result was a 266. Not bad. Coulda done without the taps.

Second set following the ladies. These ladies weren't half bad. They burned up one lane and not too much carrydown. I go 248, 290. At the conclusion of the second game I was getting harrassed by a drunk calling me a "house rat" This drunk was Gary Younkers, a man just coming back to bowling, sort of, who was once one of the best. His college average is still the record high to date. Anyways, after striking on the first in the tenth and listening to his heckling, I asked him where he wanted the second. He says "miss by ten boards you rat!" I throw one out to the gutter, bring it back, and strike. For the curtain call I signal for the "full Brankin," or Brooklyn as you know it. I tug the ball in, cross over and carry! Gary gave me a high five and left me alone for the night.

Last game the ball finally proved to be too much and as much as I moved I couldn't keep up. I shot 204 the last game after switching to my Black Widow in the tenth. (yes, my Awesome Revs hooks more than my Widow)

All in all a great reaction. Very clean through the heads, very strong and continuous on the backends. This ball will give the Total Inferno a run for its money! Everything I expect from Mo and then some. Awesome Revs = Awesome Ball!

In this case of the cg being kicked out left (for a righty) you would have to have the PSA pretty far from your pap due to static weight specifications, and you'd have to use an x hole (which I agree is one of the reasons that they came out with this ball). Considering that the HART is 90* from the PSA, If one kicked the HART out toward their VAL, the psa (remember that it is an axis through the ball, and there are 2 points at which the psa reaches the cover) could conceivably be beneath the thumb or somewhere around there, and you'd still have to have an x hole. The visual picture that I use to make this prediction was a view of a ball, pin up, If you mark the cg, psa, and hart it certainly seems to make sense.
