Suggestions for Awsome Revs drilling

Just got my Awesome Revs from fbila35, (thanks Josh), and thinking about the best drilling for it. Specs on the ball; 15.4 oz, 3" pin, and 3.9 oz of TW. I am toward the high end for speed and medium revs. Thinking of the Sharp Break Point drilling. My PAP is about, 4 1/4 and up 3/4. Any thoughts on this drilling? Thinking of the 3 3/8 pin to PAP, and 5 1/4 to mb drilling.

What is your tilt?, rotation?

If you are speed dominant, have +tilt, +rotation and are very accurate as you say, I may try a layout of 3 1/2 x 4 with the pin about 1 3/4 from VAL. I would try and trade your Revs for one with less top weight though. About 2.5 ounces would be good........

Yes, I could be considered that. Tend to want to throw it hard, have to concentrate to not throw it through the break point. Especially as I get loose in a set. Favorite shot is usually semi straight up the boards.

Not sure what my axis tilt or rotation are. I have not had an occasion to really measure them. Drillings that seem to work best for me are generally pin under ring, maybe to under bridge. Here is a picture of the ball, the cg is immediately below the R in Revs. This may help.

I couldn't see the pic. However, I would like to say that for people like you and the way I was when I could bowl right handed, and the reason why we like stuff with pin under the finges is it starts up sooner that something with the pin higher up as the core is shorter with the pin under the fingers, meaning it wobbles less and takes less time to reach its PSA. For you and me, thats good....

As for the Revs, where do you want it to fit? What else do you currently have that you will carry with you when you take this ball?

Picture now works. Here are a couple more pictures of the Mo stuff I want it to compliment. I do not have the TSA yet, but plan to keep it as drilled now, just change the span to fit me. I want to maximize the Awesome Revs snap to allow to get a little deeper on the lane.

In order to get the Revs to really move on the backend, you will want the the pin further away from your PAP than 4 inches in my opinion as anything closer will make this ball too aggressive too early for you. Also, I would keep the mass bias close to your thumb as well...

Personal opinion, I would do a 5x4 drill and keep the surface factory.

I drilled my second one with the pin 6" from my PAP and the mass bias close to my VAL.  With a weight hole this ball still flares plenty.  I find that I can use this one a lot longer into the night.  The first one I had drilled asymmetrical flip with the most continuation has a tendancy to roll too early if I hit it at all after a game or two.

Fabes,

Another option you may want to consider is to put a flip drill on this with a strong read of the midlane.  If you're speed dominant (meaning you need a little help reading the mids) and want some angular backend, the flip drill might just work.  It's real similar to what Cory suggested.  My version would be 3 3/8 pin to PAP with a 4 1/4 mb to PAP.  Once again Pin 1 3/4 away from VAL, mb close to VAL but not past it.  I have used this for myself and customers in the past with good outcomes with vanguard stuff.  This will give you a ton of flare with a pretty angular backend....

Clint's drilling (5x4 pin low) may work, but keeping the pin under your fingers and your low track PAP means you'd have the pin under your middle finger and MB strong.  It's been my experience that this is more of a rolly look (smoother) rather than angular.  It may be what you're looking for.  However, if you want angularity, a flip drill is where it's at...

I see you put the pin 6" from pap, I was thinking of doing that too, with the mb either under or right next to thumb (near val).  I'm looking for a long, late strong reaction, something to use on league night.  From your description, that sounds like the way to go.  I'm thinking of putting the pin like 3 above midline, above the ring finger (RH).  Can you give any input?

Sounds good.  Mass bias placement is up to your preference.  If a ball works well with the mb right of the thumb, stick with that on all asymmetrical stuff.  I personally like putting it closer to my VAL unless I am specifically looking for later revs.  Mass bias placements differ from bowler to bowler depending on rev/speed dominance.  A mass bias on my VAL for me may be like the mb in the strong position for someone else.

With my PAP at about 4 3/4 and up a 1/4, it give me a 4X4 drilling. On first shot with I found it to be smooth through the fronts, and nice roll through the mids. On the backend, more of a strong arc than a sharp break, but the lanes were tighter than usual when I threw it and had some decent carrydown. Need to try it again on a fresh shot, with good clean backends. I did find it to hook 2-3 boards more than the Strike Zone that I can usually get to come back pretty well. Had to move 2 and 2 with the SZ and square up to get it there. The Revs gave me more of a belly shot and a lot more forgiveness right of target.
