I wanted to use this ball to its strength and keep it aggressively laid out... And what I got was exactly what I want.  I have not gotten a chance to throw it on anything fresh yet, only a 2nd shift wood/guardian, and a couple tosses on an open play carrydown mess which was just to see if it felt alright.

Judging off of the games I have put on it after punching it up yesterday, the 'Nsane seems to need a bit of head oil to push down the lane, which is understandable and can be fixed with a quick coat of some shiny stuff. The motion once it got down the lane was fairly impressive.  A very strong continuous arc off of the friction, with no uncontrollable jump.  I can see how this ball could be angular as it really revs up hard once it gets a chance to grab the lane.  I would not characterize this ball with this layout as angular, but  that may change once I get to see some fresh backends and enhanced dry to the right on synthetics.

I will post more on this once I do get a chance to see what it really does on something that isn't blown apart.

Thoughts/comments?

Well, I got a chance to throw it on our fresh THS.

Let me say this, every ball has some things it works on and some that it does not.  After bowling a few games on a fresh condition, it seems this is not the shot.

The layout I put in this ball is not max by any means. And this ball reads the mids and stops.   But, it needs a whole bunch of head oil or it will roll instantly.  There is no excuse for a bowler with a rev rate near 500 rpm to leave a 5-7-10 on fresh synthetics.  Ever.  Especially with a pin up pearlized bowling ball.

Here is another oddity I picked up on.  The cover is like ice once it gets tossed a few times.  This could be playing into the fact that if it hits oil it skates forever and if it hits dry it burns up almost instantly.

Its not bad.  8 games, and nothing under 197.  But the amount of plaque 10's and weak hits from the ball either rolling out or NEVER grabbing the lane seems a bit odd.  I put the ball to 1000-grit polish and it seems to have helped the head oil problem, so now I can square up and let it roll to the hole.  I am beginning to think that the 2nd shift at this house will let this ball shine.

We'll see tomorrow now.

Mo cores are very strong, for me at least.  And the way you have this ball set up, it would be a very strong, earlier flaring drilling, again for me.

And, from the way you describe it ( being O.K. on a carried down second shift shot but rolling off on a fresh shot ) it sounds like it may be strong enough to need a longer oil pattern to keep it from burning up, even though it is a pearl and has a higher pin position.  Remember, it has been said that coverstock is up to 70% of a balls reaction. and even though it is pearl, it can be very strong and very "reactive" to dry areas and the more friction you have, the faster you bleed off the energy.

The pearl cover will tend to promote length, but as you said, you have been having to find friction ( dry ) to read the lane because it just skates in oil, and it seems to "over read" the drier boards and may be buning up ( using all its energy prior to the backend ).

It may be that, between the drilling, cover stregth, core strength,  and your release, you have an earlier flaring ball that will need a longer ( not necessarily heavier ) pattern to help it conserve energy long enough.

Good luck. That's a great looking piece.  Hope you get the bugs worked out.

I should have mine tonight or tomorrow. Dropped it off by the proshop to get it drilled with max backend and flare so hopefully it will be what I'm expecting. The shiny coverstock kind of scares me because I've always had a problem with balls "skating" down the lane too far but all I throw is MoRich and if its anything like the rest of his balls, this one shouldn't have any problem turning a corner. I'll let you guys know what I think when I get a few miles on it. lol

The ball is smooth.  It is the coloring, for some reason the flash bounced oddly.

Can you guys keep me informed on the Nsane? I love my LEVRG! It's drilled almost the same as the picture with 1000 abralon finish.
(I hate to admit this but I use you guys to convince me before I buy stuff.)
THANX, miles

I will update a bit more when I can throw it on a broken down 2nd shift on synthetics.  I put the cover to 400-grit polish with ebonite factory finish, and it seems to have tackified the cover quite a bit.  Standard Brunswick Polish finish, so we will see how things work.
