In your opinion..
« on: July 27, 2006, 03:53:35 PM »
what 2 balls should i get to fit in this line up for the upcoming JBT's and other tourneys;

my current lineup in order from strongest to weakest is (so much overlap between flip and fired up)

Seek & Destroy- Med-Heavy
Fired' Up- Med (very skid/flip)
Awesome Flip- Med (hooks up a little earlier and is smoother)
White Dot- scorched/spares

was thinking:

Awesome Hook - Heavy
Seek & Destroy - Med-Heavy
Fired' Up- Med
Awesome Flip- Med
Hammer Blue Vibe- light
White Dot- scorched/spares

open for suggestions anything is possible

Just out of curiousity, why would you need 2 "flip" balls for medium conditions?  The Fired Up is a fairly strong backend ball.  I would take the one you like the best and get rid of the other one.  Maybe you can do a trade with someone here to gain something you want to fill a void, such as a Vibe or Blue Ice.  But, everything else looks good.

my Awesome Flip doesnt snap nearly as hard as my fired up and i usually use this ball when their is carrydown and the Fired Up isnt finishing so i wont get rid of it. and also people have told me (such as HammerBowler) that the Vibes and also the Heats have stronger cores that the ices and tropicals so im shying away from Storm or Ebonite for dry lane balLs

One more thing.....you need a "control" ball for mediums.  Try to get a solid reactive to fit for mediums to lighter mediums such as a Jinx by Columbia.

reppin,

I am here to tell you that the Element series is every bit as good and as strong as the Vibes, if not stronger.  I have seen MANY Crossfires go down the lane and I know for a fact it is stronger than the Purple Vibe.  Ebonite has the best stuff top to bottom than anyone right now.  I am not sure who is telling you otherwise.  But, as a pro shop person who has drilled many balls and with my experience, the Element Series is not "weak" except for the Black Ice and that is to be expected.  PLUS...the new Whirlwind is stronger than the Crossfire.  Whoever said that the cores are not as strong are talking biased opinions.

The No Limit is going to be for people with weaker releases who want more backend.  Guys that rev the ball may not like it as much because of the high diff number (.071).  It is known to me and some others that Tommy Jones and Jason Couch really did not like this ball because it flared too much.  I believe this information came from John Gaines himself.
