Title: why are morich balls so ugly?
Post by: kleptic on October 04, 2007, 11:16:41 AM: morich seems like the geekiest of bowling ball technology from what i've seen. makes me interested in these balls, but why must they all be so ugly?

To increase carry percentage, corner pins are terrified of ugly balls so they fall down easier.

Post by: shelley on October 04, 2007, 08:12:11 PM: Really it's just the last few. I thought the Ravage, S&A, and most of the other Vanguard balls are fine. Hard to screw up solid-color particles, ya know? The Revs and Finish, though, are not pretty. The mixing is weird, the colors look terrible.

Post by: BOWL119 on October 04, 2007, 09:16:27 PM: Not sure I agree about the REVS. Mine is mostly blue with a little bit of yellow and red, it looks pretty good. My FINISH looks good as well.

But I do agree about the LevRG. I often wonder what that ball will look like if it is polished. I know that will not change the color, but would the shine make it more appealing to the eye.

I've yet to turn out the lights while "rollin'". It's tough enough to hit that target on the ceiling without being deprived of lights, as well.

Post by: keeones23 on October 05, 2007, 11:01:41 PM: I had two a/r's, 1 was mostly red and blue and it was o.k but I don't have that one anymore but the 1 I got to replace it is mostly yellow with red and blue swirled together its beautiful in action but once it stops uhh not so much but right now it is my favorite ball by far. And my finish isn't bad looking.

Post by: TWOHAND834 on October 05, 2007, 11:37:07 PM: Mo Pinel asked a friend of mine who owns a shop how his bowling balls were doing sales wise and my friend said not so well because the shelf appeal is horrible. Most of his sales are from the Widows, Doom, Raid, Kinetic, and NVs.

I thought the Ravage was decent but not stellar from a color standpoint. The Awesome Hook was decent. The Revs and LEVrg are not going to sell very well down here. The Total Annihilation and Shock and Awe were not bad looking.

In my opinion, there is a big factor of shelf appeal when it comes to ball sales. Interesting to see what color combos come out in the future for MoRich.
