WMB Super Duper 2 game MINI review!
« on: November 18, 2004, 03:17:06 AM »
The weapon: 16 pounds,...1000 smooth, pin 3 3/4" from axis, mass bias @ 5 1/4" w/ a 'target hole' 2" inside val, modified hook-set. For my game...a hook-set type drill is best...(see profile for more info)

Lanes:
Fresh....I mean ...super fresh THS with super screaming backends!!

NOTE: the 2 games I threw were in BOX condition 500 grit....it is now at 1000 grit to smooth it out a bit

My typical start point for most houses is left foot on 20,...yeah...right!! LOL can you say 2-4 ...barely! Well...I moved to 25....nope....and finally settled on 30...crossing the arrows at 18 out to 5-7 at the break.  Granted it took me a whole game to get a feel for this ball....but game 2 ended with 8 in a row once I found the right line ! ( I don't usually play deeper than 25....you know...revless over here !)

This ball revs pretty nice....reads the mids well and seems to start reading the pattern immediately as if its on a path.  The way my ball is set up...it's a nice strong move but it's very readable ...you can see it moving...so I'd say hard arc, but not too hard.  Even in box , it did get decent length...more than I thought...

Hit: ....for me,...on the condition I was throwing on....if I was anywhere close to the pocket....forget it!  Once I got lined up in game 2...I knew just past the arrows if it was striking...and it did.  2 games....NO 10 pins....I did split a few times due to me just finding the line.  A few higher hits carried, and a few lighter carried as well. Not EVERY SINGLE one....but most did.  Flush pockets were dead-10 in the pit !!

For what I see....this ball will be first out followed by the Herc.  The WMB seems like a true lane reader that can open up a THS immediately and carve your line !

I'll take her to my mens league tonight and see what happens on that pattern and report back

Well.... 1000 smooth is very nice for this ball....I showed up before our practice time and was able to throw a couple shots with members of my team....BOOM.....4 in a row...so I just sat down.....Practice started...same thing......standing 25....13 at the arrows out to 7-8.....

The nice thing about this ball is that you know immediately what it's going to do....if you're off (which I was quite a bit last night...forcing it!) you can see her stand up too soon and you know it's going high or brook!  But....keeping her on path in the oil is a beautiful thing...I only had 2 shots go light last night...one from forcing it an got a crap release..and the other was just pitched WAY wide !!  Operator error!!!

I'm looking forward to getting more games in this one.....it's going to be nice...I can feel it!

Hit last night was tremendous!! loud! messengers abound!!  I did leave a few 10 pins...but entry angle on all but one was crap ...(tugged it !)...very pleased overall with only a total of 4 or so games in it.....

Jeff,
So you are saying that Mo's claim of making the 10 pin obsolete is a stretch? *L*

In all seriousness I was able to watch a bowler throw it and I knew what to expect of this bowler. The ball was pretty impressive. High school bowler...shot 277, 219, 234. The WMB was strong at the pocket and he was not getting the weak hits on light or high shots as I saw when it was being demoed at the seminar.

How would this ball perform polished and on what conditions would it work that way?  Does it polish up well Like a V2 particle?

How does it handle drying heads with carrydown.  Typical second squad conditions?

I have never tried a Morich ball and am seriously considering trying a WMB but with it having a high load particle coverstock, what about the possibilities of "ball death"?? Does anyone have any comments on this?

Also, anyone know the best price on the net for the ball? I know buddies had it for $130 + ship.

Thanks in advance..

A guy in my league was using his Wednesday night and all I can say is "WHOA!!"....He's got big speed and tons of revs -- looked like it was polished a little and it was still hard for him to get it out far enough to keep it on the right side of the headpin -- too much ball for me and my piddlin' speed/revs!!  He was leaving all kinds of funky stuff with the way this ball went right through the rack!!  Pocket 7-10 to end the night and neither of them so much as wiggled!!

I saw it the other day and the guy throwing it was throwing 190s and the score sheet kept saying 230!  About 4 undeserved strikes a game.

Don't get one!  I am!

Also heard NEVER NEVER never put mass bias on negative side of thumb or on Track.
For this ball

Otherwise you can't keep striking with any other drilling!  Silly!
