- Color: Black/Blue Pearl All colors do vary somewhat from the picture shown.
- INNER CORE: Sinister
- COVERSTOCK: Whiplash Hybrid Reactive
- FINISH: 4000 Grit Wet Sand
- RG: 16#-2.55 15#-2.55 14#-2.57
- RG DIFFERENTIAL: 16#-.050 15#- .053 14#-.053
- A few tiny pit holes in the cover stock of the ball are normal
- RECOMMENDED LANE CONDITIONS: Heavy Oil
- DESCRIPTION: The 2Cruel has a mean backend reaction that inflicts serious damage in heavy oil. The new Sinister asymmetric core has a higher RG to provide length, and differentials that produce strong track flare. This weapon is then armored with a new Whiplash Hybrid Reactive cover to generate a backend reaction that is absolutely devastating. The average league bowler will totally dominate a fresh house shot using the 2Cruel. Tournament bowlers will see how truly special this ball is on heavy oil shots. In the 2nd and 3rd game, when the heads get beat up and oil moves down the lane, the 2Cruel will be very clean and then unleash devastating power on the backend.

The new MOTIV 2Cruel is the new Heavy Oil Asymmetric glides through the heads easily, gains traction in the mid-lane, then finishes super aggressively. Where this ball shines is the easy back end that it gives me. But this is not a skid-flip ball – with the mid-lane traction, I really have confidence that I won’t over shoot the break point. This allows me to stay aggressive with my ball speed, which is a bonus when playing high volume patterns.

On a typical house shot – this ball is… well, really fun to throw. Super fun. You really get the feeling that you have unlimited room right.

In a sport shot tournament situation, the 2Cruel is ideal 2 or 3 games into a block on heavy oil when carry down makes the lanes tight down lane. And I can stay with this ball a lot longer than you typically can with other strong equipment, because of how easy the ball gets through the heads.

Here is a video of me rolling the 2Cruel on the Main Street Pattern which is the house shot that my bowling center puts down.  The second part of the video, I roll all 12 of the current balls in the MOTIV line-up back to back, so you can see how each ball fits into the arsenal.

The 2Cruel stores energy extremely well. But it’s the way that the energy is unleashed is what makes this ball special. It seems to gain momentum as it heads down the lane, but still keeps the pins low as it heads through the deck.

This just might be the best bowling ball that I have ever thrown. It is EXTREMELY strong and holds nothing back when it drives through the pins. It glides through the heads and a seatbelt is recommended upon arrival into the break point. PREDICTABLE PREDICTABLE PREDICTABLE!!! While it is very strong, it is not very jumpy. You know exactly what it is going to do.

The 2 Cruel is phenomenal at storing it's energy as it goes through the heads then it becomes a head-turner through the pin deck. People tend to look over and wonder what that explosion was. This ball is very enjoyable to throw on fresh conditions or when there is carry down in tighter spots.

This really is a revolutionary ball for Motiv. Become MOTIVated and join the revolution!!!!!!!

COMMENTS:

Likes: significantly cleaner through the fronts than a Raptor (2.46 RG) and is an excellent complement. The 2 Cruel has much less midlane read which helps it retain energy for a stronger finish down lane. I would the say the majority of this ball's reaction is in the last 1/3 of the lane. It is excellent for longer oil patterns and/or broken down patterns where the bowler has to move deep inside and trust that his/her equipment will make that strong move down lane. If you own a Primal Impulse, then this be a similar shape, just stronger overal IMO.

Dislikes: Can be hard to read on spotty conditions. Also if you really get a handful and/or slow your speed down this piece will check and go sideways. It is certainly a unique reaction to the MOTIV line up and fills a gap. I do feel though that with any piece of equipment that makes this kind of shape down lane it will be a little more condition specific.

2 Cruel

MOTIV saved the best for last with their final launch before next season!  The 2 Cruel brings a new Asymmetrical Hybrid to the High Performance line.  With the new Sinister core and new Whiplash coverstock combination, this ball creates some SERIOUS downlane motion.

The box finish (4000 sanded) is strong midlane, but where the 2 Cruel stands out is at the backend.  The response at the breakpoint was faster than any high performance/heavy oil ball I have ever seen.  After testing the 2 Cruel with the out of box finish I then hit it with 2000 Abralon.  It started sooner as expected, but still created a fast response at the breakpoint and overall making the ball much stronger.  Comparing the 2 Cruel to the Raptor Attack (Both with box surfaces), the 2 Cruel is not as long and has much more backend potential.

You can see my video here:

Overall, this release allows me to play deeper lines and create more entry angle than I would with other high performance/heavy oil balls.  Since the box surface is a matte finish, the 2 Cruel also has the option to be even longer and stronger by polishing or sanding it with a lower grit for even more overall hook!

This is a 3 man 4 game summer league.I have rolled almost all of the Motiv balls for the last 12 months and this ball is special.

As a  speed dominate stroker this is the first ball from any manufacture at 4000 grit that I have not had to change the cover.

If you are looking for a new ball don't overlook this one !

Really like the way this ball goes down the lane. Clears the fronts clean and saves a lot of energy for the back end. Its about 2 boards stronger than a similar drilled Raptor. The main difference for me was that I could send the 2 Cruel out into the dry and it just kept coming. The continuation this ball has is amazing. I can see using this ball after the lanes start to transition. Starting with Sigma Hybrid on the fresh and changing to the 2 Cruel.

Here is my video for this amazing addition to the MOTIV lineup.  This ball has so much continuation and projects through the fronts unlike anything else.  If you are looking for a heavy oil ball, with unmatched backend drive then this is the ball for you.

It is a 2cruel world ladies and gents! Last summer MOTIV hit a homerun with the Sigma Tour, this year once again MOTIV is releasing a ball to delight many bowlers... the 2cruel. The 2cruel features a brand new cover stock and brand new core, the Whiplash cover stock and Sinister core respectively. The intent of the 2cruel is more mid-lane, and more angle through the pins in comparison to any ball MOTIV has ever produced. This ball is also quite appealing on the shelf!

I have drilled two 2cruels so far. The first one was drilled 55 x 5” x 40, with a weight hole needed on P2. This ball is great for me with additional surface (1000) and is great on tournament patterns early. This ball will replace a Raptor on the fresh. The second 2cruel is drilled 70 x 4.5” x 40 and this ball stores much more energy and will be great when the lanes begin to transition. With surface on this ball, it is an absolute monster!

In comparison to other bowling balls in the MOTIV line, the 2cruel is intended to go longer and respond harder than anything else in the current line. In respect to the other asymmetrical balls MOTIV produces, the 2cruel is cleaner and as aggressive in the backend as the Raptor P7, the 2cruel provides more mid-lane and more angle than the Raptor Attacks. Stop by your local pro shop and get MOTIVated!

Review:
Motiv has something special here! This ball reads the midlane great, and has a fantastic move to the pocket at the break point with awesome hit. The 2 Cruel hooks more than my Raptor P7, even though the P7 is drilled stronger and has a lower grit finish. The 2 Cruel playes well on inside, outside lines and carrydown.
I tested this ball on a Fresh House shot that was on the wet side. The ball was very strong and I had plenty of area. For a lower rev player I was impressed with what the ball did for me. Even when I moved deeper I still slapped the 10 out. We did the video with the box 4000 finish but the next day sanded the ball to 2000 and got a lot more hook. I did notice some shiney "flakes" in the coverstock (for more RA?) and a almost minty, or cleaner like smell to the ball which is unlike any Motiv ball I have drilled before. I do think however, most people will stay with the box finish.

Summary:
Strong ball with great backend and hit.
Excellent carry from different angles.
Good POP on back even cutting through carrydown.
This ball is truely something different and special from Motiv.
I will get at least one more for my arsenal.
Anyone who wants to destroy an oily house shot or flatter pattern should try this ball!
If this is your first Motiv, it will not be your last!

If you are looking for a ball that combines the power to cut through heavy oil and the retention of  energy for an angular backend motion, the Motiv 2Cruel is what you want in your arsenal.  Combining the strength of the Whiplash hybrid coverstock with the high RG Sinister core (2.55 RG, .053 Diff) you will see a unique reacting that is tough to find in the high-performance category.  With the patterns I have been bowling on I have seen a good mix of clean front lane projection, smooth midlane transition and an angular backend move with continuation.  I have been able to play multiple angles with this ball, something that I have not been able to do this effectively with coverstocks that are this aggressive.  While playing straighter lines I have seen a strong motion at the spot with plenty of power going through the pins.  When I have stepped left and started playing the middle part of the lane, with both open and tight angles, I have not lost any hitting power as the core gives this ball the ability to transition quickly from projection to hook.  Overall the 2Cruel has given me a special look that I usually need two different balls to fulfill.  The unique reaction this ball has is a phenomenal addition to my bag, one that anyone who loves angularity in heavy oil should enjoy.

Likes: The last piece I needed to fill the void in my arsenal with MOTIV has been delivered. The 2Cruel definitely gives you a stronger more aggressive backend reaction than anything else currently in MOTIV’s lineup for heavy oil. I know I’m redundant in saying this but it’s the truth in my honest opinion:  MOTIV has the best ball motion from their high end ball to entry level ball than any other company I have ever thrown equipment for.  Easily the most versatile equipment that gives you a true read on any condition.

The new MOTIV 2 Cruel has the new Sinister asymmetrical core, which
has a higher RG and a lower differential than the core in the original Cruel C51.It also features a new coverstock in the Whiplash Hybrid
Reactive. This core and cover combo helps the 2 Cruel clear the
heads easier the the C51.The 2 Cruel has a nice midlane roll, and saves
up it's energy for a very angular backend from such and aggressive
ball. The 2 Cruel respond rather quickly to the friction at the backend.

The 2 Cruel is just the type of ball that I have been waiting for.A heavy
oil ball that doesn't check up too early in the heads and the midlanes,
yet is aggressive enough to thrive in the heavy soup. The 2 Cruel doesn'troll up as early and is more angular at the backend than Raptor P7.

The 2 Cruel is a great ball the go to when trying to open up the lane.I
could move deeper into the oil when the lanes started to open and
send it further right than any other MOTIV ball to date. The angular
nature was a big plus for me,it recovered nicely when it encountered
the friction. So far this ball has been just what I needed when I encounter
oil but still needed to create area.

Bowler Stats-Ball Speed 15.5 MPH Rev Rate-App 280 Axis of Rotation-30 to 60 degrees Axis Tilt 9 degrees Right Handed PAP-5 over, 1/4" up

The Motiv 2Cruel is designed for heavy oil patterns according to Motv. The ball is as advertised and more for me. It pushes through the heads on fresh shots, revs up in the mid lanes and make a strong, nearly snappy move when it encounters the end of the pattern.  In addition, the core/cover combo allows me to move deeper and coontinue to use the 2Cruel much later in a shift then I have been able to with my previous heavy oil balls.  Because of it's ability to wait to rev in the midlanes, I am able to use the ball playing inside as well as up the boards.  Compared to the original Cruel, the Whiplash Hybrid Cover gets down the lane farther before making it's move.  This accounts for the versatility of the ball in my mind.   I am able up the boards, or swing it out to the dry until their is no longer enough head oil to get it down the lane.  For me this, along with the Simga series, are the most versatile of the Motiv line.  I believe I could use this ball on Medium lanes and with the correct drilling I may even be able oil much drier conitions.  I think it will be a great match up for me early in long format tournaments, league nights and on longer patterns. The 2Cruel lets me know when to put it away as it will start leaving weak 10's and 7's on hits that look good.

If you use this ball as designed, that is on heavy or long oil patterns, it will be a very effective ball. To throw it on a burnt conditions will require a healthy polish and a longer drill pattern at the minimum.   With the 2Cruel Motiv has a piece of equipment to give that Asymmetrical move at the breakpoint and the explosive hit of the pins as the original Cruel did.

I'm very colorblind but the Neomark Graphic makes the ball very pleasing to the eye and give it good shelf appeal, though I have

heard a number of comments about the pink in the ball :-).
