Description: The Primal Rage Remix is the 5th generation Primal and the strongest to date! It introduces the NEW Raw Fusion Hybrid Reactive Coverstock (Box surface - 4000 Grit LSS).  The Primal Rage Remix also shares the same Impulse V2 Symmetric Core as used on the Primal Rage and Primal Scream.

Reaction: The Primal Rage Remix is a ball designed for heavy oil, without having to use an asymmetric core. It’s hard to imagine a ball that is angular and designed for heavy oil, in most cases they either are too clean for heavy oil, or they tend to be too strong too early taking away from the point of a faster responding ball made for longer patterns and or more volume. The Primal Rage Remix provides the right strength in the midlane and yet still allowing it to still respond fast enough when it encounters friction.

Comparisons: The Primal Rage Remix is a significantly stronger version of the original Primal Rage. It is stronger in the midlane but, slightly less responsive downlane, probably due to the fact the Primal Rage Remix has more surface on it out of the box. It is very close to being MOTIV’s strongest overall hooking ball, however the Jackal is just a little stronger overall. After experimenting and tweaking the surface of the Primal Rage Remix to match the surface of the Jackal I found the Primal Rage Remix to be very similar in overall hook, but the Primal Rage Remix still offered much more shape downlane!

Summary: MOTIV’s lineup is currently very complete, but they continue to find ways to fill in the gaps. The Primal Rage Remix is a breath of fresh air for me. When the Primal Rage Remix was released that was all I threw for a long period of time. I think the Primal Rage Remix is going to be a very similar situation.

Many people first took notice of MOTIV when the legendary Primal Rage (Redball) was released two years ago. (I still have that ball in my active arsenal). When I heard about the new Primal Rage Remix – I was very excited.  MOTIV put a new Raw Fusion Hybrid Cover on the unique Impulse Core. The Remix is everything the Redball is, but stronger!

Many times balls that are designed for heavy oil are early rollers, but this not the case for the Remix. The Remix is now my go-to ball when I’m looking for some back end on the longer heavy oil patterns.

Here is a video of me rolling the Remix on the Bourbon Street and PBA Shark Patterns. I compare the ball motion to the original Primal Rage, Jackal, Forza, Venom Panic, Graffiti Tag, and Ascent Apex.

When I throw the Remix I can feel the energy as it makes it’s move on the back end.  It seems to gather momentum when it hits the break-point and explode through the pins. Since I have a pretty high rev-rate, I do need some oil for the Remix… but that’s what it’s designed for! There are several Motiv options for lighter oil (Tag, Ascent Apex to name a couple).  But lower rev-rate players could certainly use the Remix on a variety of conditions.

When I’m bowling on long oil, the Remix allows me to relax and throw the ball with confidence. I know the ball will do the work, so I don’t need to try and help it to the pocket. I recently used it on the 43 foot Chameleon Pattern at a PBA Regional, and it was fantastic. Sometimes a little confidence is all you need to bowl your best!

Description:  The Primal Rage Remix takes the Impulse V2 Core from the Primal Rage and adds a new Raw Fusion Hybrid Reactive Coverstock.   This coverstock is at 4000 grit LSS out of the box.  This symmetric core beast has an RG of 2.55 and a diff of .050 for the 15lb version.

Comments: The Primal Rage Remix is designed to be used in heavier oil conditions.  For those people that struggle with an asymmetric core this would be the choice.  The Remix has enough strength for the midlane and yet the continuation at the pins is just outstanding.  For me, the Remix read the lane approx 4-5 feet earlier then the Rage and had a smoother overall shape.  It is quite a bit stronger then the Rage as the Rage was never designed for heavier patterns like this ball is.  When comparing it to my Jackal the Jackal had slightly more overall hook but was less angular then the Remix.  Lower rev players will be able to use the Remix on heavier THS at the start of the night before transitioning to the Rage-Octane-Tag at the end of the league session.

Summary:  Motiv continues to produce some of the strongest hitting balls on the market.  The lineup offers a variety of ball motions for all types of players.  The Remix is clean through the front, reads the midlane on heavier patters and just continues through the pins with #rawpower.  This really is an excellent choice and should be in your bag.

It is finally here, the newest release with the Impulse V2 core that was ever popular in the original primal rage. Personally, I find myself being able to use this ball much more than the original just because of how it picks up a tad sooner than the original and is much stronger in the oil. Even out of the box, the remix seemed to be quite strong enough for most patterns that I bowled on with it.

The one I have been using the most is 55 x 4 3/4 x 65 with a hole down and this ball reads the midlane as well as anything I have thrown recently. I always like to see my ball pick up seeing as how I am more speed dominant than rev dominant, in which case I love to throw forzas on most everything. However, now the remix will allow me to follow transition in and switch from a forza that reads at a very unique part of the lane right into a remix.

One thing I have noticed with the remix is how fast the cover tends to shine up from the oil. Now this simply could be from bowling on ICE oil a lot lately or a variety of factors, but for me personally I have found more success having a little bit of surface on them. Nothing too much, but say around 2000 or so. This ball is incredibly clean through the fronts as it is so a little surface doesn't bother it at all and still continues down lane like you would expect a primal rage ball to do!

I am incredibly pleased with what I have seen since using this ball lately. It allows me to see a shape that I have been missing in my game once I start to transition left on longer and higher volume patterns that the weaker cover/core combo balls just cannot do. Be sure to pick up yours from your local pro shop today!

Motiv Primal Rage Remix
I drilled my Remix 50 X 4.5" X 45 with the intent of using this ball on the fresh with heavier volume and being able to chase the wax left. The ball design allows for this ball to be used on longer patterns with more volume. For a pearl ball I have been searching for this type of design for a while  I have struggled on higher volume patterns with some of the older stuff reading the lane to much and not having enough motion for the back part of the lane. The Remix clears the front part of ease, with plenty of mid lane read and less overall motion down lane than most pearls. My issue with a lot of the Hockey stick balls has been their over sensitivity to Friction. This is not the case with the Remix, the Remix reads the dry in a much smoother way, more predictable. For those looking for a ball with stronger motion than the Revolt and less down lane motion than the Original Primal Rage, I believe this ball will fit very well. I liken this ball to a lot of the older Motiv balls, Clean front, good Mid Lane and good movement down lane. The Remix's continuation through the pins is much like all the Motiv greats.

Older balls this reminds me of:

Looking to add some #RawPower to your arsenal?  Look no further than the new Motiv Primal Rage Remix.  The combination of the extremely successful Impulse V2 core (2.55RG, .050Diff) with the new Raw Fusion Hybrid Reactive coverstock (finished at 4000 LSS) creates a ball that gives you the traction needed in heavier volumes of oil with the backend power and continuation to drive ten into the pit.  I’ve thrown my Remix on several different house conditions and it exhibits the same qualites from house to house; ease through the heads, good mid-lane read without over reacting, and a definitive move off of the spot that continues through the pin deck.  While this sort of reaction is expected on the fresh when playing straighter angles, I have found that this ball continues this reaction even when moving depper on the lane.  In a minors set I bowled in a tournament I used this ball exclusively: started crossing at 12, finished crossing at 24.  The entire time the ball would give a good midlane read to help with my moves and then continue a strong motion to the pocket.  This sort of versatility can give you the effect of two or three balls in one.  Stroker, tweener, or cranker, I believe this piece can empower your game with a unique ball motion for its overall hooking category.

The Primal Rage Remix is the big brother to one of the most successful MOTIV balls ever, the Primal Rage #redball. The Remix features the same dual density Impulse V2 core with a new shell called Raw Fusion. The Remix is a much stronger ball in general. It reads the middle of the lane more, and offers more total hook. The Remix does have that same angular, continuous shape that the Rage is known for. I use my Remix when the asymmetric Jackal is too much ball but I cannot ball down to something like the Covert Revolt or Revolt Vengeance. It is a nice option for those speed dominant bowlers out there who have arsenals built around low RG cores. The Remix would be a nice addition as it will not hydroplane and have more lope through the front of the lane. I also feel like the Remix is a good choice for those bowling on some volume who have very heavy, forward ball roll. The Remix won't burn up and stop on you, and will give you some nice motion through the pins. I feel that the Remix offers something unique to the market as it has that high performance ball motion that you'd expect at that price point. However, it doesn't bog down or quit like some balls do the second it sees early friction. I have my Primal Rage Remix drilled 55 x 5 x 30 with no extra hole. I have not altered the surface very much at all. It was a very good match up for me out of the box. Bottom line is if you are looking for a performance piece to use on some heavy volume transition or just want a different look in your bag, then i think the Primal Rage Remix will be a welcome addition.

This ball is the newest introduction into the MOTIV line of bowling balls. The MOTIV Primal Rage Remix features the new Raw Fusion Hybrid coverstock combined with the Impulse V2 core.  It's clean through the front of the lane, makes a predictable move off the spot and has the backends you will be looking for down lane.  And most important, it has the continuation that has come to be expected from MOTIV bowling balls.

It will be a great fit in your bag on medium to heavy oil.

My Remix is laid out with the pin above and to the right of the ring finger, the cg under the ring finger and has no extra hole.  If you liked the original Primal Rage, you'll love the Remix.  If you didn't have a Primal Rage (first of all, get one), and give the Remix a try, you won't be sorry.  This ball is going to get A LOT of play for me on medium to heavy oil.

The Primal Rage Remix is the latest addition to the Primal series of Motiv Bowling equipment. If you loved the Primal Rage (a.k.a. The Red Ball), you will definitely love the Remix. The Remix utilizes the same Impulse V2 core found in the Rage but with a new Raw Fusion Hybrid coverstock that can handle more oil than the Rage. The Remix hooks a few feet sooner compared to the Rage with the same continous motion through pins.
I have drilled two Remix, one pin up with no hole which gives me the same look as my Rage that has the same layout. The difference being about a 2-3 foot sooner move to the pins. The 2nd Remix is pin down with a hole on my axis and this ball is also sooner but gives me a slower response to friction and gives me excellent control by keeping my angles a little tighter on heavier oil patterns.
In conclusion, like with any other Motiv ball, you get a clean push through the front, smooth predictable read in the midlane and continuous roll through the pins. The Primal Rage Remix is your answer for longer patterns.

Rev Rate:420
Axis Tilt:20
Axis Rotation: 45
Ball Speed:17
PAP Measurements: 4 1/8

Description:  Designed for heavy oil, the Primal Rage Remix provides more length than the Jackal and a hostile backend motion. The proven Impulse V2 core is underneath the new Raw Fusion Hybrid Reactive cover stock, this cover allows the Remix to retain energy in heavier oil environments and make a strong move as it encounters more friction. The cover is tuned with a 4000 Grit LSS finish.

Out of box surface: 4000 Grit LSS
Layout: 4 x 4 1/2 (no weight hole)

Ball Reaction: The reaction is the opposite of the original whereas you saw the strength of the Primal Rage down lane, the strength of the Remix is shown upfront as it hooks more.  In the Remix you have a ball designed for heavy oil that is strong in the midlane and has a quick response encountering friction, and it’s rather angular which I find to be its best quality.

Comparisons
Primal Rage: I used the same layout for my Remix as I did my Primal Rage. The Remix is relatively a stronger version of the Primal Rage itself, it is bigger in the midlane and responsively sharp downlane. I attribute this to the Remix having oob surface compared to the original Rage. The Remix and Rage are both clean; the glaring difference is the hook the Remix possesses.
The Remix hooks more than the original Rage but the original has more back end. The original is also smoother than and not as angular as the Remix. In terms of heavy oil I personally never had any trouble using the original but using the Remix it was just easier, I didn’t have to be as careful with my ball speed because the Remix picks up sooner. If I pushed it off my hand instead of the ball skating the Remix would roll in the oil, which is what I want the ball to do in the oil.  On flatter patterns personally I’m choosing the Remix.

Jackal: The Jackal is bigger than the Remix in the midlane and does not go as long, I love using my Jackal when there is a puddle in the middle of the lane where I prefer to play.  When the oil started to fade up front the Jackal was not clean enough, the Remix is different as it doesn’t start as early as the Jackal.  Both are in the heavy oil category, but the glaring difference is the ball motion itself.  Overall the Remix has a lot more ball motion down lane.

Revolt: The Covert Revolt has a more controlled motion than the Remix, its not as sharp coming off of the pattern. Using both at oob finish the Remix is longer than the Revolt and provided me with a stronger reaction in the midlane, the glaring difference between the two being the cover itself.  The Revolt has more oob surface.

Forza:  The Forza has a very early ball motion in comparison to the Remix, and is nowhere near as angular. Comparing the two together I absolutely agree with the chart, the Remix leads in every category and in dominating fashion. I tested both of them on long and heavy and long and flat patterns, the Remix excelled more in my opinion. It was more versatile for what I wanted to do.

Summary:
I always find it amazing how Motiv continues to fill gaps in an already complete line up, I was very much in love with the original Rage and that love has carried over to the Remix.  I’m pleased with what I see out of it in terms of ball motion, and I love the color green. In most cases bowling balls designed for heavy oil set up rather early, but the Remix does not and that’s what I like about it.  The Remix will be my ball of choice when I want more backend strength when I encounter those heavier patterns, instead of using my Revolt. If you have ever wanted more out of the Primal Rage I encourage you pick up the Primal Rage Remix, because #RawPower isn’t just a cool hastag.

It’s the truth.

Your game will thank you for it.

Ball Specs:
Motiv Primal Rage Remix
Hybrid Reactive
4000 Grit LSS
Ball Specs:  Impulse V2 Symmetric Core
Layout 50 x 4.5 x 65 (with balance hole)

Bowler Specs:
Right Hand. PAP 4-3/4 Over 1/2 up
Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Rotation 50.
Speed off hand 18

Review:
The New Motiv Primal Rage Remix is a very strong Symmetric Hybrid. The Remix uses the Impulse core made famous by the Redball for great backend and drive through the pins. The total hook is almost as much as the Jackal but the motion is longer and stronger. I have been on shorter patterns where the Remix covers as many boards as my Jackal due to the backend strength. I also believe the Symmetric core helps higher rev players keep this ball in their hands longer than an Asymmetric and the adjustments during the breakdown are not as big.  The Remix does need oil to be most useful in its box finish. It reads the midlane well and the core makes a noticeable move when the ball starts to flip. Light hits carry very well due to the entry angle to the pocket.  I tested the Remix on a fresh modified house shot as well as a higher volume sport shot. The ball played well on both patterns, and when I moved deeper as the lanes dried out the carry was still great! The Remix works well with different layouts most likely due to the core.  Pin up or pin down the reactions are very good. Polishing the Remix increases the length and backend or the ball allowing a bowler to use on a medium oil pattern.
This ball will definitely be in my tournament arsenal!

Summary:
The Remix has the hook and motion desired by bowlers.
The Remix looks great dull or polished.
The Remix is versatile for a Strong Reactive.
This is a great ball to have if you like hook and angle.

RAGE REMIX
Ive been anxiously awaiting a piece that was  for me missing from my bag. Although the Jakal was a heavy oil piece for me it just wasn’t angular enough for the shape I so wanted to have on heavier oil patterns. Since I- like most everyone on the planet loved the RED BALL I couldn’t wait to get this piece in my hands. Finally a heavy oil MONSTER  something that reads the lane throughout the heaviest of patters but still provided the angularity to give me that extra few boards right…To me the easiest comparison of this ball is to that of the new LARGE HEAD Drivers in golf or Big barrel bats in baseball…Both of these offer the oversized Sweetspot  to provide forgivness to off center hits . This ball to me does just that! The motion of the original Red Ball while still reading and continuing through the pins with a force never seen before! This ball is in a world of its own and a great addition to your bag! Don’t miss out on this one and leave your competition in the dust..

Flash back to 2 years ago, the first year of the annual PBA Summer Swing is underway. The bowling community has been introduced to the 3 new animal patterns, specifically, the longest pattern to be placed on the lanes for the PBA, the 52’ Badger pattern. The Semi-Final match of the Badger has just begun, we find ourselves looking at new-comer to the tour, Jake Peters as he takes the lanes for the first time on national television. With the MOTIV logo well represented, what is it that we see in his hands that will eventually lead to not only a PBA title of Jake, but the start of a whole new chapter for MOTIV? That’s right folks, the #REDBALL itself, the Primal Rage. This piece would spark the blaze that now fuels MOTIV as it continues forward. Now, fast forward back to the present, the #REDBALL is still a force to be reckon with on the lanes, you would believe that a follow up to such a piece would not be needed. Well my friends, you would be sadly mistaken as proven by Ronnie Russell just this past season of the PBA Summer Swing, the 2 year anniversary of Jake Peters’ victory with the #REDBALL. The Primal Rage Remix, as shown in Ronnie Russell’s hands, proved that MOTIV planned to not only build on its tradition of success at the Summer Swing, but also the success of the Primal Rage by making it even more vicious on the lanes just when we thought it could not be done. With the Remix, MOTIV has taken the proven Fusion Pearl Reactive cover stock and given it a fine tune up for better handling of heavier oil patterns in the form of the new Raw Fusion Reactive cover. This new cover stock provides solid length with the familiar backend as seen from the original Rage with a bit more bit while maintaining MOTIV’s notable down lane continuation.
There is no disappointment in this latest piece from MOTIV once you place it in your hands. The angles that can be accomplished with the Remix will make you feel almost sentimental as it will provide a strong reminder of the #REDBALL but with a few more tricks in its bag. The Remix provides a very similar quick response to friction down lane allowing for a wide range of angles that can be played without sacrificing the pocket and very minimal loss of carry. From personal experience with the Remix, although it’s overall stronger than the original Primal Rage, the reaction off the spot and transition down lane is much smoother and easier to read. The beauty of the Remix is the length it offers compared to the Jackal, although the Jackal out classes the Remix in overall hook and cover stock strength, the length proved by the Remix allows for better energy retention down lane that will ensure better carry.   Do not get me wrong, the Jackal is a power house of a ball on heavier oil patterns and it rarely loses hitting power, but there are times that depending on the amount of carry down experienced, it will eventually become a bit lazy down lane and fighting through the transition may lead to bigger problems. Prior to the introduction of the Remix, the Primal Rage would be a player’s next logical choice, problem is, despite the Rage’s quick response to friction, its angularity could still lead to potential over/under reactions down lane. The Remix, as MOTIV had intended, provides the perfect go-between that still provides the aggressive backend that is needed as well as length when the Jackal is just too lazy or starts to enter too early of a roll, the Remix will provide the additional length needed but maintain similar aggression and continuation down lane. The original Primal Rage was capable of this similar reaction but was lacking a strong enough cover to get through those heavier oil patterns. Once again, MOTIV has listed to its fan base, and reviewed its ball shapes and reactions within their lines, and they answered the call. Taking an already highly successful concept, and simply ‘Mixed’ it or should I say ‘Remixed’ it!
