Quadfire Inner Core
The new Quadfire inner core produces an RG that stores energy for the backend reaction and a differential for controlled track flare. The 15# ball has an RG rating of 2.55 and differential of .043.
MOTIVator-Z Reactive Urethane
The shell on the QZ1 Quadfire is our new MOTIVator-Z reactive urethane. The Purple Pearl QZ1 is 1000 wet sanded and then polished with Power Gel. This gives the Purple Pearl ball a slightly earlier read on the lane than the Red Pearl ball.
Reverb Outer Core
The Reverb outer core of the QZ1 is a low-density polyester resin with pin piercing hardness and strength. Rather than absorb impact energy, this outer core reverberates energy as it explodes through the pins.
NeoMark Reactive Urethane Graphics
The Purple Pearl QZ1 coverstock is integrated with Silver Pearl NeoMark logo graphics. These graphics are also formulated from MOTIVator-Z reactive urethane so you have a consistent reaction 360° around the ball surface.

First please bare with me, this is my first review of a ball.  

First off, I have about 25 games on this ball right now.  So I am finally getting to know it's strengths and its weaknesses.  Right off the bat I noticed that the carry is unbelievable.  In those 25 games, I think I left about ten 10 pins.  I am more likely to leave a solid 8, or solid 9.  Along with a handful of 4 pins, just for the fact this ball is stronger then I think with the layout.  

First night out, was on a typical BZ house shot. Started out playing right around 17, out to about 10.  Very smooth reaction, with the surface I really thought that it would grab sooner.  But got pretty good length and rolled up strong, nothing crazy on the backs.  Was actually surprised that I got a chance to really not have to make the big jump left like everyone else.  Lucky me I got to try this out on a night when we where bowling guys that really got on the ball.  So not making that big move left was a total shock to me, and the guys we where bowling.  Also what I noticed I had some messengers that looked like they where shot out of a cannon.  I think my final move of the night was moving to 20 at the arrows, and about 10 at the break point.  For me I was very excited with the fact I was not deeper then the 5 th arrow for the night.  Big Bonus!

Second night of using the ball all three games.  Not an easy house, can give you fits if you miss your target.   I would say that this night was the typical reverse block, with extreme out of bounds.  Once again started the night right around 17 to about 12.  Starting to actually get used to squaring up with this ball.  Start out, 247, with a solid 8, and a solid 9. Everything else was flush with excellent carry, made a move the 10th frame.  Moving my target in a bit, due to the quick drying of my line.  Second game have my target at 20 and using the same break point.  I lose the line a little, and go 192.  I  hate to do it, but I take a big step left. Moving my target, 25 at the arrows, and 10 at the break point.  Really needing to get around everyone, this seemed to be the right move.  Was really surprised that the ball still had enough energy to carry covering this many boards.  Think I really had some guy noticing the power of the Q on and around the lanes.  I end up shooting 234, for a 673 series.  I know that its not a huge number, but at a place where the top averages are about 20-30 pins lower then at other houses, it a big pat on the back for me!  Like a guy on the pair next to us, 670 is like 750 plus at other houses.  

All in all, I am really finding that this Purple QZ is really a nice piece.  I was worried with the low drilling, and the lower then normal pin.  But have to give props to my driller of the ball.  Thanks Justin Wyman, you know what you are doing.  I hope to post pics and some videos of this ball.  Now I just have to figure out what surface preps I have to do to my Red QZ and my GT1.

Let me say first that this ball SHOCKED me with its ease of length and overall hook.  

My intention for this ball was Shark pattern.  Typically, my struggle is producing length without sacrificing angle.  Too much angle and it's corner pin city, but too little and the five pin might be staring you in the face.

On the Shark the only time I've bowled on it since drilling this ball it was too much to square up as much as I like to.  For players who like to throw the ball hard on these type of patterns or who like to play a bit deeper than I this ball would be perfection.  Personally, I prefer to play as straight as possible on Shark.  

The house shot is great for both of the QZ1 balls.  This one allows me to get way inside the wet/dry line and just slow roll it at the dry.  As long as I don't throw it too hard, it is great for that line of attack.

While I have thrown this ball with box surface, it is my opinion that it is best at about 2000 grit.  That gets it to pick up just a bit earlier and thus the entry angle is less finicky.  Any duller and it is too early to be playable the way I prefer to use it.

Drilled this ball 2 weeks ago with a 5 inch pin just below the bridge. This ball reads the mid lane a few feet sooner that the Red QZ1 and gives me a nice strong arc at the back. Pin carry has been very good. This ball works great on medium conditions. On the THS the Purple QZ1 doesn't give me that over under condition that you see at the start of the night. The QZ1 line gives you a nice 1-2 combo. Start with the Purple and switch to the Red as the lanes dry out. Heavy oil is the only condition that may give this ball problems. But that is not what this ball was designed for, Motiv has other equipment for that. This ball competes very well with the higher priced balls on performance.

Drilled up the QZ1 and was amazed right off the bat. I put the pin above the bridge at 12 and the cg under the ring finger has been one of my favorite layouts for sometime.  What it did on this ball was gave me great length with a very strong smooth roll on the back end with tons of hitting power. Motiv is making some of the best equipment around. Keep up the great work

This ball suprised me at how strong it was when I first threw it.  With the combo of this layout and the ball, it gives me a very strong move at the break point and reads the lanes a little earlier than the other QZ1's I've punched up.  Unless the pattern is HEAVY or DRY, I like to pull this ball out first and start with it.  It allows me to read the lanes well and decide what to use according to what this ball is doing.  It's my benchmark ball now.  I can start with this one then ball down to the QZ1red's when it starts going too soon and i've gotten so far left that the corner doesn't get the memo to fall over.

I have this ball and love it. I'm very picky on which ball company and which balls I use. I have 7 different motiv balls and love them all. This qz1 I have is drilled with the pin above the fingers and cg in the middle of the palm. This makes this purple qz1 to have a real nice arc to it and not the skid flip like all the other motiv I have do. When my tz3 goes to long I pull this ball out and have the same amount of hook but it hooks sooner since it arcs hard. 4000 abalone sanded and highly polished. great ball.
