- DESCRIPTION: The versatile MOTIVâ„¢ TX1 is deadly in the hands of any bowler. It has a controllable reaction and drives incredibly hard through the pins. The TX1 features the Thrustâ„¢ inner core, MOTIVator-Xâ„¢ reactive coverstock, and 2-color NeoMarkâ„¢ urethane graphics.
Thrust Inner Core
Powered by the Thrust inner core, the TX1 drives incredibly hard through the pins with a mid-level RG that is difficult to slow down. The Thrust inner core RG is 2.54 with a differential of .052 (15# ball).
MOTIVator-X Reactive Coverstock
The TX1 bowling ball features MOTIVator-X reactive urethane coverstock. The Cobalt Blue cover is finished at the factory with 1000 Abralon pads and brought to a luster with our very own Power Gel® Polish. This finish is dialed in for medium to medium-heavy oil.
NeoMark Graphics
The TX1 demands attention with 2-color NeoMark urethane graphics. Citrus Orange and Vintage White logos are featured on the TX1''''s Cobalt Blue coverstock.
Reverb Outer Core
The Reverb outer core of the TX1 is a low-density polyester resin with pin piercing hardness and strength. Rather than absorb impact energy, this outer core reverberates energy as it explodes through the pins.

*Please refer to my review of the Motiv SX1 for additional information on the Motiv brand*

My TX1 is drilled with a Pin to PAP distance of 5" with the pin located about 1/4" above the ring finger and the CG kicked out about 2".  The coverstock is still in factory box condition prepped at 1000 Abralon and polished with Motiv's Power Gel polish.

With the combination of the layout, core design and coverstock prep, my TX1 is much stronger at the breakpoint than the SX1!  I would say the TX1 is much more angular, where the SX1 is earlier revving and smooth.  The higher RG of the TX1 in comparison to the SX1 also contributes to the angularity and recovery of the TX1.  It just seems to store more energy which makes the TX1 turn harder and be more continuous as it enters the pocket.

Again, the carry of the TX1 is outstanding!  There's a resounding "crack" when the ball hits the pins, which is a result of the MOTIVator-X coverstock and the Reverb outer core.  As with the SX1, the TX1 could be anyone's "benchmark" ball, which I think is saying a lot in today's market when most manufacturers are putting out balls that hook, hook, and then hook some more!  The Motiv balls are about power with control, and that's what makes them different.

As with the SX1, the TX1 will give you a reaction like NO other ball on the market.  Plus, the NeoMark Urethane Graphics are something to see and feel!

Final thoughts on the Motiv SX1 & TX1:

Power:  You'll see so many scouts you'll think you're at a jamboree!
Forgiveness:  More forgiving than your grandmother...

What more could you want?

Lane Conditions: Medium-Heavy Oil
Typical Conditions: House Shot
Type of Lane: Combination
What part of the lane did you play? Third Arrow
Did the ball track out? Slow
Weight of bowling ball: 15
Surface of bowling ball: Polished
Likes: The TX1 has amazing predictability throughout the entire lane, not matter how far left and how hard I was able to hit the ball, it gave me the same consistent roll down the lane. It’s truly a unique look to compliment my equipment.
Dislikes: The only thing I didn’t like about the TX1 was when you tried to play down and in the ball wanted to get into a roll just a little to quick, even with high ball speeds it still wanted to rev up, Massive polishing helped with that.

Overall I really love the TX1, absolutely nothing comparable on the market, continuous arc and strong motion throughout the lane makes it so predictable on all lane conditions. Out of the box the ball just reved up to early so I had to bring it up to 4000 Abralon and 4 ways of polish. All bowlers will like this ball for its predictability. Speed Dominate players will most likely use it in medium-medium light oil patterns, rev dominate players will have to have oil to keep it from turning to early. No matter how dry the lane condition did get, the ball never rolled out and always finished. It’s a unique peace, so don’t expect the same reaction as you other bowling balls, you’ll be surprised and what you can make it do.

TX1: Stacked below ring finger, No balance hole (Small Pin 1 ½”)

Compared to what’s in my bag:

Angular One, Rattler, and Inferno: Drilled 4 x 3 3/8
TX1 was much earlier and smoother than all three bowling balls. Overall hook the TX1 covers more boards throughout the lanes but doesn’t have the same explosive reaction in the backend.

laid out with my favorit drill: 1 1/2 in above my middle finger and the cg slightly to the right.

This ball give me something that I don't see much of.  It wants to get into a roll so soon and has a heavy roll throughout the entire lane.  On the house shot where I work, I had to play this ball up the boards around 15 out to 12.
I then took some surface to it and that seemed to make it lose its energy too quick and didn't have much left for the backend/pins.
I've got another one I'm deciding on how to drill.  Once I lay it out i'll update

Just a little update:

After throwing this w/ some surface (2000 down to 600) I decided to take it back up tp 4000 and polish it.  After doing so, it has given me a much more consistant read of the lanes.  It still is by far the least aggressive of the 7 Motiv balls I have drilled.  But that's ok, it fits in the arsenal very well now for when the lanes get broken down...around game 6-7 of a house shot, or if I want to play the lanes more direct up around the track area.

check out my videos of this and other Motiv balls at http://icemilk.bowlspace.com

This ball continues to amaze me! I laid it out using the dual angle layout: 50deg x 3-1/2" x 65, which placed the pin under my ring finger. I took the surface up to 2000 polished and this ball reads the midlane and has a controlled, but strong move at the breakpoint! This ball rolls very consistent and you know what you're getting in terms of reaction, no surprises!!! I can pretty much use this ball and my SR2 on most conditions. I've drilled a lot of bowling balls and I always go back to the TX1 and SR2!!! There's a lot a great bowling ball on the market and I consider Motiv to be at the top of my list of my favorites!!
