Description: The Revolt Havoc maintains the same Vanquish core as the original Covert Revolt and Revolt Vengeance. As usual though MOTIV doesn’t like to repeat coverstocks and this ball is no different, using the new Helix HFS Reactive coverstock. The Revolt Havoc has a vibrant solid purple cover which also provides great shelf appeal.

Reaction: There is no doubt that the Covert Revolt was a unique piece that MOTIV initial provided, but the Revolt Havoc is honestly going to be a legit replacement. It is very simple, the Revolt Havoc is significantly earlier than the Covert Revolt and it may be hard to believe, but it is also more continuous and provides even more hook potential. So the purpose of this release is still to fill that void of a hook AND control piece. My first layout (70 X 4.5 X 60, no hole) is the earlier and stronger of the two layouts. This layout will be best on flatter and heavier patterns. It isn’t a ball that will be used a lot in league or typical house patterns as it is just too early and too strong overall to open the lane up on those types of patterns. My second layout (60 X 5.5 X 35, no hole) is the more versatile layout. So far I have been able to successfully use this on fresh house patterns. It has allowed me to move into the heaviest part of the lane and really blend out the very wet/dry house patterns, which has really opened the lane up because it never loses continuation. Even though this layout is cleaner and has more continuation it is still plenty strong enough throughout the entire lane.

Comparisons: MOTIV always does a very good job at placing balls into their lineup…this one is no different. The Revolt Havoc is replacing the Covert Revolt, but it’s not just a change in color. "To mimic or re-create the Covert Revolt would have been an insult to our customers and boring for us." Brett Spangler-MOTIV Tour Representative. So with that being said yes, the Revolt Havoc is earlier and stronger than the Covert Revolt. As for other comparisons, the Revolt Vengeance is now much cleaner and provides much more shape down lane, but the hook potential is noticeably less than the Revolt Havoc. The Primal Rage Remix is once again much cleaner and has a much faster response down lane, but doesn’t quite catch the hook potential of the Revolt Havoc.

Summary: Well, there are no tricks to this ball, you know exactly what you’re getting. An earlier rolling ball with amazing continuation. I am not going to tell you that this ball is good for all conditions, it is designed for when you want the ball to start sooner and maintain control and a lot of continuation.

The havoc is great on a high volume THS. With an early roll and strong continuation the havoc opens up the middle of the lane and recovers well from missing out without over reaction. This ball is a must to have in your bag for when you need an early roll with strong continuation. It is the first ball out of my bag most nights.

If you want absolute control over jumpy or soaked lane conditions look no further than the Revolt Havoc.  By combining the proven Vanquish core (2.47RG, .056Diff) with the new Helix HFS Reactive coverstock (finished at 3000 LSS) a ball has been created to give unprecidented control with continuation.  In the past with equipment at this performance level I have had an issue with the ball burning a bit too early and not driving through to the pit; not so with the Havoc.  The pin distance on mine allows the ball to easily skate through the heads but still pick up strongly in the mids thanks to the core’s strong diff.  Once at the breakpoint the ball makes a very smooth motion towards the pocket; I have yet to see this ball jump at all, even on snappy backends.  The most impressive part of the ball, to me, is its ability to keep rolling through the pindeck.  Whether I am playing straight up the lane or swinging it a bit, this ball is not left wanting for strong continuation.  I have had the most success with this going up the boards as the ball controls the breakpoint so well that I do not have to worry about touchy backends.  I have even been able to move right later in the day and watch this ball make it through the burn with enough energy to still smash through the pocket; it is truly a unique ball reaction.  The Revolt Havoc is the ball that anyone who calls themselves a #ControlFreak should have.

COMMENTS

The new Motiv Revolt Havoc is the perfect benchmark ball for heavier oil conditions.
By combining the proven Vanquish core (2.47rg, 0.056diff) with the new Helix HFS reactive coverstock (finished at 3000 LSS), the resulting ball delivers an early midlane read with a very smooth breakpoint shape and unbelievable continuation through the pindeck.  Smooth shaped balls are usually very good playing up and in, but the Revolt Havoc has excellent continuation when the trajectory calls for a swing shot.  The ball is impressive on a THS with slippery oils as well as on challenge or sport shots.  Very controllable and easy to read.  It’s a GREAT stepdown from the Motiv Jackal.

Revolt Havoc

Description: The Revolt Havoc is the newest release from Motiv. As with the Covert and Vengeance, at the center of the Havoc is the Vanquish core. This ball utilizes the all new HFS (High Friction Solid) reactive coverstock (3000 Grit LSS box finish) which allows it to read the lane early. The Havoc is purple and accented with black logos.

- Color: Purple Solid
- Weight Block: Vanquish
- Coverstock: Helix HFS Reactive
- Finish: 3000 Grit LSS
- Recommended Lane Condition: Medium-Heavy Oil
- RG: 2.47 (for 15# ball)
- Diff: 0.056 (for 15# ball)

Reaction: What sets the Havoc apart from other early rolling equipment is it's unique ability to maintain continuation. While the majority of balls that roll early tend to go forward and lack drive through the pins, the Havoc keeps coming around. With my style, I have always had problems matching up with early rolling equipment. The Havoc has been unique in that it reads the lane for me extremely early without sacrificing pin carry. In my video I tested my Havoc's on a 40' THS and the WTBA 44' London certified sport pattern.

Havoc #1 (50°x 5.25" x35°) //// Havoc #2 (75°x 4.5" x 75°)

Both balls handled the patterns rather well. They start early, read the lane, and don't do anything unexpected. One of my favorite aspects of this ball is the fact I can play up the lane without worry that it'll overreact off the dry because of how well it controls the lane. Not only that, but because of it's continuation, I can get inside and still maintain carry without leaving those dreaded flat corner pins. Anytime I try and move inside with previous early rolling equipment, I tend to start leaving flat 10's.

Comparisons: As with every other Motiv release, the Havoc has it's spot in the current lineup. It's early, but much stronger and more continuous than the original Forza. In relation to the other Revolt's, the Havoc is earlier with more overall hook potential. The original Revolt starts later and isn't as strong. The Vengeance gets much further down lane, responds to friction much quicker, but has less overall hook potential. The Havoc is best suited for medium to heavy oil. For me, it fits perfectly in between the Jackal and the Venom Shock.

Summary: I will be the first to admit I was less than optimistic when I heard the characteristics of this ball. Given my inability to match up with early rolling equipment throughout the years, I didn't think the Havoc would be any different. As with any new release, you hear the typical buzzwords and hype that you've heard used to describe equipment a thousand times before. With that being said, I am more than happy to admit I was dead wrong. Not only has the Havoc filled a void in my arsenal, I finally have an early rolling ball I have confidence in that matches up with my game. The Havoc controls the lane and is one of the most consistent rolling balls I've ever thrown.

Description:  The Revolt Havoc is the newest release in the Revolt line.  It uses the Vanquish core from the Revolt line along with a new Helix HFS Reactive coverstock. This coverstock is at 3000 grit LSS out of the box.  This symmetric core beast has an RG of 2.47 and a diff of .056 for the 15lb version.
Comments: The Revolt Havoc  is designed to be used in medium-heavy oil conditions. The Havoc is very strong and reads the lane earlier then any current Motiv release but somehow still has awesome continuation through the pins.  This is a ball motion that usually isn’t seen.  Most balls that roll this early usually have trouble retaining energy downlane.   For me, the Havoc read the lane approx 5-10 feet earlier then the Revolt. When comparing it to my Covert Revolt, the Revolt was longer downlane and had less overall hook. Being a lower rev players this is a great fit when the pattern is heavy in the front and I need to get the ball to read the midlane.  Once this balls starts to read too early it’s a nice step down to the Revolt Vengeance.
Summary:  Motiv continues to produce some of the strongest hitting balls on the market.  The lineup offers a variety of ball motions for all types of players.  The Havoc reads the lane early, makes it’s move and just continues through the pins like now other.  It’s an excellent choice on higher volume patterns.

The Revolt Havoc has been something I personally have been waiting for. This ball offers great traction earlier on the lane but stays smooth throughout the transition and to the back of the pin deck. I am able to use this ball will many different shapes from all areas of the lane. For me, this has been the most versatile ball I have thrown from the Motiv line of equipment. I can also use many different rotations and tilts with it and it still stays predictable. In addition, even though it is a pretty early rolling ball, I still find it having great continuation through the pins. The Revolt Havoc has now become my first ball out of the bag for a day of bowling and will remain that way.

The Revolt Havoc. The new purple ball. Best way to describe this ball is early and often. The high diff (.056) Vanquish core and the new Helix HFS cover stock provides an early and continuous motion even on the long lane patterns. This ball for me is 5 to 7 boards stronger than the Covert Revolt.

My Havoc is drilled with pin above fingers and cg in the center of my grip. The cover gets the ball started in the oil and the Vanquish core continues the motion through the pin deck. I use the Havoc when my Jackal is too strong in the backend or when my Covert needs to start a little sooner. I have a low track and finding equipment to roll early and continuous is a challenge for me, but the Havoc is exactly what I have been looking for. It has been a little too strong for league conditions in my area but practicing on long and heavy sport patterns, the Havoc is a beast.

Review:

The new Revolt Havoc from Motiv Bowling is the latest release and the newest in the Revolt line. The Revolt Havoc brings together the Vanquish core and the new Helix HFS Reactive coverstock. These two combinations make the Revolt Havoc one of the earliest, strongest, and most continuations bowling balls Motiv has come out with. These combinations shouldn’t work on a bowling ball but it does here with the Revolt Havoc. Along with these combinations, the Havoc can be versatile both for lower and higher rev players with the strong continuation through the pins. Grab yours today at your local pro shop.

Comments:

The Revolt Havoc is quite a piece to say the least. I loved the first two Revolts, especially the Vengeance which I still throw a lot, but the Havoc is something special that the first two revolts can’t duplicate. As the review states, the Revolt Havoc is by far the strongest ball I have ever thrown and love that even be so early at break point the strong continuation through the pins set it apart from the rest. This piece I feel I can strike at will both on house and on sport, something that I haven’t seen since the Vengeance release for me at least. I love the shape and the purple color makes this ball standout for those people who want something that strikes a lot but hate bright colors. Lower rev players will love this piece because they won’t have to worry about losing ball continuation through the pins win they have to move more in during breakdown transition or carry down while higher rev players will love the versatility the Revolt Havoc will give them and still have strong continuation through the pins.

Likes: Strong, early ball motion down lane; strong continuation; very versatile.
Dislikes: None

I recommend this bowling ball for all types of bowlers.

Likes: Strong controllable shape

Dislikes: Continuation through the pins

I have enjoyed using this the last couple of weeks in league and actually got someone to pre-order it from their pro shop.

This is like a Covert on steroids!! Early, strong, controllable, and hit. It is everything I loved in the Covert times 100.

I drilled this 70 X 5 X 30 because I thought a slower response layout would make the ball too weak...and I was right. I still had to add some polish to the cover to be able to make it work at the center I bowl in, but it was worth it.

I can see me being able to add some surface when I get on a high volume pattern, however, I have not run into this situation yet.

It is easily a 5 and 3 move in compared to my Covert, but where if I had to move in with the Covert and lose hitting power, that does not happen with the Havoc. I can still shred racks from inside of 4th arrow.

Motiv may have tagged this one #ControlFreak...but I am going with #PurplePower!!

Revolt Havoc Review

Ball Specs:
 Motiv Revolt Havoc
Helix HFS – High Friction Solid Reactive
 3000 Grit LSS
 Symmetric Core
 Layout 55 x 4-1/2 x 70 (box finish)
 Layout 55 x 4-1/2 x 40 (power gel polished)

 Bowler Specs:
Right Hand.  PAP  4-3/4 Over 1/4 Up
 Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Rotation 50.
 Speed off hand 18

 Review:
The new Motiv Revolt Havoc features a new cover stock from Motiv. The new Helix Solid Reactive cover is earlier but stronger than the cover on the original Covert. The ball provides plenty of hook and an upgrade in continuation from the original. It is strange to see a ball hook early but still maintain this much drive on the last part of the lane. I know as an industry we are seeing some very exciting things with cover stocks and Motiv is no exception. Polymers, short strand, long strands, additives all add up to ball motions that may have been out of reach before.  I like the predictable hook and hit the Vanquish core. Great carry seems to be a trend in the new Motiv equipment, and I believe why most people, after buying a Motiv ball become very loyal.  The Havoc It is just above my Shock in total hook, but not as much as my Remix. I would describe the Havoc as early roll with a backend that gets stronger as it goes down the lane.
I tested the Revolt with box and a polished surface. The ball tunes easily up and down.  The ball looks great polished! Strange for me, but I will most likely use this ball polished. The Havoc gives me a great read on our wetter house shot but won’t overreact when the lanes break down.  The box surface I will save for Sport or Tournament shots. The polished Havoc gave me a few more feet of length and I was able to square up on a flatter higher volume pattern as shown in the video. The polished ball still was very predictable.
The bowlers I have drilled the Havoc for have stated how well the ball keeps the pins low and really digs the corner pins out.  The Havoc is another fine addition for Motiv. Lower rev players seemed to like the CG/Mass Bias point swung toward their VAL while the high rev folks liked a weaker layout.

Summary:
The Havoc hooks plenty but is controllable.
This ball works for many styles.
The more I use the Revolt Havoc the more I like it.
Polishes easily which makes the ball more versatile.
The Revolt Havoc is another move forward in technology.

Motiv Havoc,
This ball is your true heavy rolling continuous ball. What I have found in the month or so I have had this ball drilled is the ball is exactly what Motiv said it would be. This ball is earlier than the Original Covert and more continuous through the pins. What I have seen is the Havoc likes wax and needs wax in the front. I have not had any issue with carry down at all. This ball gives you a shape that is predictable and smooth. What I love most about this ball is that I have been able to use it on standard league patterns to start and also some longer broken down tournament patterns. This ball is truly one of the first balls out of the bag because I can use the control early in the block and it tells me instantly when it is time to put it away. Weather or not I listen to what the ball is telling me is another story. Have in the past been known to have a case of NBS. Anyways If you are looking for an overall shape that is full on control and offers amazing hitting power I would fully recommend the Havoc. I truly believe if you are a tournament bowler or a league bowler who has to deal with over under this ball will truly smooth out the lane and let the lane come to you. This is one of may favorite releases in the past year.

MOTIV appears to enjoy taking on the impossible time after time. Each time, they seems to always redefine this word. The example this time, enter the Revolt Havoc! After the Covert Revolt first hit the lanes, improving on such a piece seems to be an impossible feat. Then the Revolt Vengeance was released, and MOTIV decided to add another dimension with a stronger backend motion on top of the clean ball reaction. Once again, it leaves me trying to imagine just how MOTIV can build off of this? Why not go the opposite direction from backend, to an incredibly strong early read of the lane? How is that a positive you may ask? An early reading ball will just use up all of its energy by the time hits the pocket and its ability to carry and drive is gone? And here in lies the impossible my friends, The Havoc, although possessing such strong early reaction, still holds to the MOTIV trademark continuation through the pin deck.
The Havoc has created quite the problem for me I must say. As many of you who have followed my reviews in the past, the Covert Revolt was absolutely one of my all-time favorite releases from MOTIV over the years. A smooth and clean ball reaction has always been one of the most successful for my style on the lanes. The Havoc is no exception in the fact that, although it is in its own class when it comes to ball reaction with how early, yet continuous it is, it still displays the motion the has placed within the Revolt line. Now, the reason this causes a problem for me, given the fact that I absolutely love the reaction the Havoc provides, in recent months, my league play does not allow me to use this piece for extended amount of frames. Due to how the pattern has been laid out in my home house as of late, smoother ball reactions no longer produce the carry for a power dominant player such as myself. The interesting thing is, the lack of carry is not due to flat or weak hits by any means. There have been nights that in a 4 shot span of making minor adjusts to my feet and target, even ball speed, I find myself leaving both flush 7 and 10 pins to swishing/mixing 7 and 10 pins. The one gentleman I bowl with simply replies that, although I have a good line to the pocket and a predictable reaction, which I love, the smoothness just does not allow for the pins to be directed the way they should to snap out those corners.
Although the Havoc has not produced the scores I’ve thrown with the original, this piece will remain in my back as a quick go-to for when I need that smooth and clean reaction that has always served me with. I highly recommend the Havoc for those speed dominant player, the early roll yet continuation can help players avoid needing to give up on clean reaction for a possibly unpredictable skip-flip by still providing them the continuation they need.
