The Revolt Vengeance is the second ball in the Revolt line. It features the same Vanquish weight block as the Covert Revolt, and has the Turmoil HFH Hybrid Reactive coverstock. The Revolt Vengeance is a ball that can be used in both the oily and dry conditions.

What I Use it For:
What I like about this ball is how smooth it is in the mid-lane. I feel like I can control the motion very well and have no problems playing straight or opening my angles without losing motion through the pins. That being said it is a ball that I place right in the middle of my arsenal between the Forza and Covert Revolt. Because of where it fits in my bag, it is a very good transition ball, allowing me to go to it with confidence when losing a look with a different ball.

Motiv’s covert revolution took hold of the bowling world and now its coming out with a vengeance!  The Revolt Vengeance is the next step for the powerfully successful Vanquish core (2.47 RG, .056 Diff) and is an amazing compliment to the Covert Revolt.  By wrapping Vanquish in the new Turmoil HFH coverstock we get the glide through the heads of a pearl but the control and power of a solid through the mids and backend.  The layout I chose for this ball is a staple in my repertoire as it gives me control without sacrificing performance, something the Vengeance not only embracing, but takes to a whole new level.  This easily gets through the heads better than the Covert for me but still gives a strong midlane read, a great indicator of a new benchmark ball.  At the breakpoint this hybrid shell has stored enough energy that I get a very strong response to the friction and phenomenal hitting power through the pins.  This ball combines the best features of the Covert (control, hitting power) with more length and greater recovery down lane; truly is a hybrid reaction!  It has been a long while since I have seen a ball that can read the mids this well and not bleed the energy that takes away from the backend reaction.  If you’re looking for a new benchmark for medium to heavy lane conditions, join the Motiv Revolution and strike with a Vengeance!

Likes: What stood out to me was how well the Vengeance does fit in between the Covert Revolt and Primal Rage. It fills the void between the smoother pieces and skid/flip pieces.

Dislikes: For how I personally use it, it's a bit conditional. Not a knock on the ball, but won't be one I use everyday. It's an arsenal piece to me.

The Revolt Vengeance has the same Vanquish core from the Covert Revolt featuring a 2.46 RG and 0.057 differential. The cover is a hybrid resin called Turmoil HFH. I drilled my Vengeance 50 x 4 1/2 x 30 with no extra hole to start. I tried it at box finish on AMF HPL and Qubica synthetic surfaces. I had a modicum of success playing left of the track going straighter up the lane. The Vengeance didn't jump early when it hit the friction left. I tried opening up the lane some as I felt I could play right of the track throwing it to a spot down lane. It had a very hard time carrying the corners. I left a lot of 7 pins, half pocket 7-10s, etc. It was too lazy down lane. I stripped the cover down and brought it to 2000 grit then I polished it with Black Magic ball polish. This didn't solve the problem although I did get a faster response to friction. After trying to using it in league and resorting to the Tribal Fire I opted to drill an extra hole 2 1/4 below my PAP on my VAL. I used a 7/8 bit, 2 1/2 inches deep. This brought the ball to life for me! I was able to play a broader range of angles and I didn't have to work so hard anymore to carry the 7 pin. In other words I didn't have to be perfect anymore off my hand and catch it all at the bottom of my swing. This is by no means a knock on the ball. I just had a hard time getting it to work the way I was seeking. I personally plan to use this ball as a transition from my Forza. The Forza is so smooth and even. The Vengeance for me is just as early but provides a slightly faster response to friction which I feel is essential to my game. I like seeing that early mid lane presence no matter what. However, I need different breakpoint shapes. It's rare that I resort to using the fast response friction balls (i.e. Primal Rage and Octane) unless the righties just absolutely beat up the pattern from deeper on the lane and/or I cross with 3-4 lefties during a block. I see high rev players enjoying this ball the most. It is the best of both worlds. A nice blend of the elements that made the Rage and Covert Revolt so well received. If you own a Primal Rage already I highly recommend picking the Vengeance up as you will have a ball to use a little earlier when the pattern is fresher and there isn't a defined spot to throw to yet. Lower rev rate and high ball speed players will like the Vengeance because it gives them more motion in the mid lane without sacrificing shape down lane. The time of covert/stealth operations are over. Can you feel it? Can you see it? There is a revolution occurring before our very eyes within the bowling industry and there is no denying it. The mastermind behind it you may ask? You only need to continue reading as MOTIV will provide you with the answer, the response to the naysayers. Introducing the highly anticipated follow up to the Covert Revolt, The Revolt Vengeance! MOTIV has once again looked back at their previous success and chose to evolve by taking the strengths of 1 success, but 2. The Vengeance still maintains the similar track flare and hook potential that has been seen in the Covert Revolt, it exhibits similar traits that can been seen within the legendary Primal Rage with its ability to retain energy and provide strong backend motion. The beauty of the Vengeance is that it does not just compliment one, but 2 of MOTIVs finest releases in their product line.
Here is the scenario, your 2 to 3 games into a qualifier block and you’ve had no mercy for the lanes while starting with Primal Rage, but you’re just hit a pair that front part of the lane is not allowing the Rage to enter a comfortable roll and has become too angular down lane. You consider the Covert Revolt, but although the earlier roll and surface will allow it to read the early part lane much better; unfortunately it simply does not have the energy to hit with power in the back-end. With the Vengeance, the best of both worlds is possible. The Turmoil HFH Hybrid reactive cover still allows for a much earlier roll that isn’t seen with the Rage. Adding a 5000 grit finish, this ball is a pinch cleaner and is able to retain energy on the backend providing the power and continuation needed that the original Covert Revolt may be lacking.
The Covert Revolt was easily one of the best pieces of equipment that MOTIV has placed in my hands. Within a matter of 4 to 5 games, I had managed to not only through a 289, 290 and 300, but I had thrown an 837 series during a tournament qualifier. To say I was one of those anticipating a follow up to the Revolt would be an understatement. The Vengeance was in no way a disappointment once I threw that first shot. What better way to determine if the Vengeance is a true compliment to the Covert than have the same layout placed on this ball. Most nights I might myself having difficulty determine which one to through as both have proven to be undeniably effective on almost any lane condition that it has come across. The energy retention as well as the clean response allows this piece to be thrown in countless angles without the concern of missing the spot and pushing it past the break-point. This is an absolute must for those who loved the Covert Revolt and even those who love the Rage as well. It is time to Unite and Take Over MOTIV Nation! #MOTIVREVOLUTION
