Rogue Blade Review
Overview: Rogue Blade features the low RG/medium differential (2.47, 0.047 @ 15lbs) Sigma core covered in the Hexion SE coverstock finished at 4000 LSS
Bowler Info: 14.5-15 mph, 300-330 rpm; Axis Tilt: ~22; Axis Rotation: ~55; PAP: 3-7/8†x 3/4†up
Review: Rogue Blade has been a versatile piece for me. With its fast response to friction, I’ll be able to use it on medium lane conditions. It will also come into play for me during transition. It fits between the Forza SS and the Paranoia’s.
Layout 1: 70 x 4-1/2†x 75 pin down, no extra hole. The pin down one, which I have finished at 2000, gives me a smoother, rounder shape down lane. It’s great for when I want to control the backend.
Layout 2: 45 x 4-3/4†x 35 pin up, no extra hole, box finish
With the shinier pin up one, it gives me easy length and a quicker, sharper move down lane (as compared to the pin down one). This one will come into play for me when I have to open my angles, but still need something to rev up earlier.
Comparison: Rogue Blade vs. Forza SS (both at box finish)
Rogue Blade is easily 3-5 ft cleaner and has a sharper backend motion with 2-3 boards less hook overall.
Final Thoughts: The Rogue Blade is special, with its clean cover and strong core combination, it will provide a benchmark piece for those tweeners on medium lane conditions. Also, this ball takes surface adjustments well, so don’t be afraid to change it to fit into your arsenal.
