Venom Recoil
« on: February 27, 2019, 03:10:50 PM »
Motiv is upgrading the Venom line of bowling balls with the powerful Venom Recoil. This ball introduces an asymmetric core to the Venom line called the Gear APG (Asymmetric Performance Gain). This core was designed to give ball drillers more drilling options. Motiv combines this core with the Coercion MFS Reactive coverstock and finishes it with a 4000 grit LSS. This ball offers a powerful yet smooth motion on light to medium oil conditions.

Review:
The New Motiv Venom Recoil is a great addition to the line. Motiv has got ahead of the new balance hole rules by putting an Asymmetric core into the Venom line. I think we will see more Asymmetric balls by all brands in the future and I am glad Motiv is one of the brands out front on this. I have always done well with the Venom Shock but I believe I like the Recoil more. These are strong words from a Motiv Shock fan. The Recoil is stronger than the Shock for me, and has a much stronger back end motion. I was able to belly the Recoil out more than the Shock and did not fear recovery or hit. I compared both balls with the same surface and the layouts where very close. The shock has a balance hole, The Recoil does not. The Recoil seems to drive through the pins harder for me also. I think the box factory finis does exactly what it was designed to do. It looked rougher than 4000 to me though. The Recoil does take surface changes well if needed.  The Recoil is a great piece to pull out if the Shock is not quite getting there. I think the new core is a perfect match for this cover. The Recoil fits between my Shock and my Forge in hook. The Motiv Venom Recoil works very well for various styles on medium or medium heavy conditions. It is a killer on a slightly wet house shot.
The color of the Recoil is great. Very reminiscent of the Panic which was also a great ball by Motiv. It will definitely get noticed as well as the great price for an Asymmetric ball making it a very nice value.

Summary:
The Venom Recoil is a stronger version of the Shock.
The Recoil is driller friendly regarding the new rules.
This is a great ball when the Shock is lying off.
The Recoil is a great looking ball at a value price.

The Venom Recoil is the first asymmetric Venom ever released by MOTIV and it has the new Gear APG weight block. This asymmetric weight block will give drillers more layout versatility with no balance-hole. The original Venom Shock is known for providing amazing performance at a very affordable cost and the new Venom Recoil will be the same. I see myself using this ball when the Shock is a little too early and I need something that will go just a little longer with a strong backend motion.

The Venom Recoil is the first asymmetrical Venom in the Venom Line. It features the Coercion MFS Reactive cover stock along with the all new Gear APG core. Factory finish is 4,000 LSS. In 15lbs, this ball has a 2.47 RG, 0.036 Max Diff., and 0.013 Int Diff.
First reaction with this ball was how much this ball hooked. It out hooks the Golden Jackal for me by 3 boards. This ball gives me the best look on medium to long sport patterns. First week with the Recoil resulted in a huge local tournament win here in Central Pennsylvania. Beginning of May, we went up to PA State Open Championship in Erie, PA, I had a finishing average of 231 for the 9 games. 7 of those games were thrown with the Venom Recoil.
This is a very versitile ball for all styles.
Crankers can utilize the power it creates off the dry to shape the ball with ease.
Tweeners and Strokers can utilize this ball and have confidence that its going to continue through the pocket and carry that 10 pin without having to be so percise. It will give you a little forgiveness on the outside if you miss right and it will hold if you miss left.
This ball is a great ball for everyone and I do recommend everyone consider getting one.
