For the Freestyle Pearl bowling ball Motiv takes the successful Recon weight block and pairs it with the new Turmoil LFP Reactive coverstock. The pairing of these two technologies produces a ball that not only offers length and great backend but also consistent transitions that reduce the over/under reaction that sometimes happens on lightly oiled lanes. Review:
The Freestyle is a great ball to have for those days/nights when the lanes are hooking more than usual. I was able to create a controllable shape on a burned house shot without sacrificing carry. Even on drier lanes, the Freestyle manages to get through the pins well. With a little added surface, the Freestyle is able to create a little more shape if it is needed.

Summary:
The Freestyle will especially be appreciated by those that battle drier lane conditions and tournament bowlers that do battle on short patterns. When the backends are really fast, the Freestyle is what you will want to pull out of the bag. With the Freestyle being on the lower end of the ball chart, it does not sacrifice any hitting power.

Intended Use:
I drilled the Freestyle with the intentions of having a smooth motion on shorter patterns.

Reaction:
Even with a 2" pin, this ball is clean with a nice back-end motion on those short/low volume patterns. I hit the surface with 2000 to help smooth the shape out to something closer to what I was looking for.

Overall:
Once I tamed the surface down, this ball fell exactly where I needed it. The shorter pin and weaker cover allow me to play right longer in the friction. I recently used it for half a block on PBA Cheetah, being the only reactive ball that didn't overhook. High rev and low speed players will appreciate the length the Freestyle brings to the table!
