>The Shock is not like the IQ Tour even though the numbers are similar. And you have to get it into a good roll to carry.

At least the Shock can carry on house shot.  Just curious other than carry what are the differences?
Kind of noob when made this account so take advice with grain of salt.

Yeah, I don't agree with that either - especially the last part. I owned 2 venom shocks when I was throwing 15 and they both were great. One drilled motion hole kept at 3000 or slight polish that was a killer on the house shot. The other was drilled for more arc and kept at 2000. It was great on sport shots. For me, this is one of the best balls I've ever thrown and I don't know why I have still not picked one up since moving to 14.

Also, while I've never owned an IQ Tour, I've seen a few people throw them. Even had one of those guys throw my Shock. He said the two were pretty similar. And they look similar to me.

Also, the comment about the Primal Rage also baffles me. Again, one of the best balls I've thrown. That, the Shock, and the Sting were my 3 favorite Motiv balls. The Jackal/Jackal LE were right behind, and I did have the LE in 14.

Think some of it is me just plain rubbing people the wrong way.  Still everyone matches up different with different balls I suppose.  I could see certain styles matching up different with either the IQ Tour or Venom Shock especially if drilled different or with different top weight, pin length, etc.  After all they do have different cover stocks and cores and numbers alone don't always describe a ball.  We don't admit it but not only the feel but heck even the looks and smell of ball can affect how you feel about it.  Certain balls just seem to give me more confidence.  For example I absolutely adore the new Ogre Urethane I just picked up for spares and its already my favorite ball even though my Blue Hammer remake is probably a more versatile spare ball.

Thanks for the explanation.  Moral of the story no solid benchmark ball ever carries enough unless you are 6'6" with hand lol.  Yep no magic balls for sure.  Best series I have thrown this week was with my urethane Crow.  Seriously thinking of using it for league as I am more consistent with it than any other ball even if my ceiling with it isn't as high.
