Guru Mighty would be a step down from a Jackal

One is legal for use in USBC competition, the other is not.  ;D

While I agree, the perception vs. reality 2 video does not. The video shows the Jackal as finishing late and leaving a weak 10 whereas the Guru Mighty, shown as the teaser ball at the end of the video. That shot shows the Mighty as finishing where the Jackal didn't. But in real life eye tests, perception wins with the Jackal and the reality is the Mighty never lived up to it's potential. But like Milo said, one is legal while the other is not.

still  have the Mighty and that ball put up 4 honor scores last season for me.  The ball cleared the heads easy in an old wooden house and killed it on the back end!  But then again I tend to like most equipment that others have problems with have bad reviews???   :)

According to BTM, Torgue (7.5), Length (13), Total Hook (56) are all same.
Mighty has 17.5-17 advantage in backend.

I was hoping that Mighty would be small step up instead of down.

My Jackal (40x4x30) has 3.5 top weight with 4" pin out. It goes very long on heavy oil.
I have around 350 rev, ~13 degree axis tilt with 16-17 MPH speed.

My Mighty (I haven't drilled yet) has 3 top weight with 3" pin out.
Maybe I might try pin down.

I need earlier rolling ball than my Jackal.

If its not too late to trade, I would consider looking into a Guru Supreme.  It will definitely grip earlier than the Mighty but still have lots of energy left for the backend!

If you do drill the Mighty, you may want to consider scuffing it up if you need to get it started sooner.

I wouldn't say the Mighty would be earlier rolling than the Jackal. From what I've seen, Jackals can handle more oil than Guru Mightys. Guru Master and Guru Supreme would be a step up from a Jackal. Your Jackal has a pretty strong layout, remember that surface is the biggest factor

Surface adjustment would be key in the ball reaction you're wanting.
