A reworded reference of a great Bob Seger song.
I tend to get caught up in every new ball just like everyone else. The NEXT ball will be the best-est ever and will solve all my shortcomings, even spare shooting. And sometimes it seems to do just that, albeit briefly.
I bowl in a Scratch Draft league on Tuesday nights locally. It's a high skill level league with the better bowlers in town and pretty much cut throat with significant money on the line. It's not a house shot and not a true sport shot either. The first quarter we bowled on the PBA50 Mark Roth pattern. This quarter, I didn't even ask as it doesn't really matter.
I have kinda shuffled along so far averaging in the low 200's in this league and tried various balls, always looking for the next great solution in a shiny new box.
As I was getting ready for league last night, I decided to toss my Golden Jackal into the bag. I have been using the Forge Fire and Venom Cobra and little else, but for some reason it caught my eye. I have had a few decent 700 + series and a high game of 277 to date.
Tried the Golden Jackal in shadow just to see what it would do...
Results of the night; 247-268-300 for an 815 series. High game and series for the league so far this season.
Sometimes you already have a solution(or just throw the ball better on that night).
