Motiv Hyper Venom video and written review

The Hyper Venom features the Gear core used on the Venom series along with the new Propulsion MXR pearl cover stock.

We used our house shot pattern to test it and the ball does exactly as advertised. It is angular but at the same time really easy to read.

This ball is by far the most angular ball in the Venom series, and trust me, I have tried every single one of them. If you are a regular on Average Joe Reviews, you might know that the Venom Shock is my favorite ball ever, so I was really excited about this one.

I had to move 4 boards to the right comprared to where I usually stand to give this ball enough room. I had to project the ball further down the lane just to watch it come back from almost anywhere. Really impressive.

This ball never hooked too early. It is clean and it has a fast response to friction, as soon as it exits the pattern the ball makes a strong move to the pocket. The ball offers a lot of recovery every time I missed left.

As soon as the pattern started breaking down, the Hyper Venom reaction just got better and better. I was able to swing the ball more to the left and see even more recovery. Even on a broken down pattern, this ball never wanted to read the lane early, offering a great reaction on this type of conditions.

For the power players, this ball will be a great option to start on fresh on most league conditions. The Hyper Venom will provide easy length and a strong, angular backend motion. While for the speed dominant or low rev bowlers, this ball definitely will come into play when you need to ball down from a stronger ball like the Venom Shock. This ball will be ideal when bowling on the transition, on broken down patterns or when you need to get more length and create more shape downlane.

For the tournament bowlers, this ball might be a little unpredictable or over/under if you bowl on fresh, flat patterns. To get a better reaction you can always adjust the surface of the ball to match up with the pattern. But once the pattern starts breaking down and you created a hook spot, this ball will be a great option to move in and create more angle.

If you are looking for a ball with a strong downlane reaction on most moderate and light oil conditions, then the Hyper Venom is the ball for you.

Thank you for watching!
