Still anxious to try Motiv since their symmetric cores look like winners. I couldn't pass up a Storm Optimus solid at a blowout price though, and for me, it's been a great choice. Broke out my slump for sure, but I also just went up against the Phaze thrown by a lefty who throws just like me, and has identical layout... Horrible. No way I'll build on that.
So, back to building a Motiv arsenal, but with the Optimus solid in the mix. I hear the Havoc is a bit weaker than I thought, but afraid with my high rotation that the Vengeance might slide through the break point...

Can anyone with actual experience on both compare the Havoc/Vengeance with the Optimus Solid?

I'd look at the Havoc.  The Vanquish core that came out with the original Covert Revolt is a low RG/higher diff core.  What this does is give you something that will be smooth overall in motion but give a lot of continuation in the back part of the lane.  Depending on the layout, it's going to be similar to the Optimus Solid.  But, the Motiv covers take changes well and I ended up doing this with my Covert.  When I need extra surface for heavier volume, I hit it with an "E" pad (1500 grit) and it does the trick.

The other benefit is that you won't have to extract oil as often with any of the Motiv covers.  Their covers flat out last.

Overall, I've liked what I've seen with  Motiv and their symmetrical cores.  Basically all of my symmetrical balls have been switched to Motiv and they're consistently good.

The Havoc has a stronger cover than the Vengeance and the original Covert.  The difference is the Havoc reads earlier and is smoother overall whereas the Vengeance is going to skid longer/be more angular in back.  IMO the Vengeance would be very similar to the Optimus Pearl and it wouldn't give you the step up that you're looking for.  But, if you are looking to compliment the Havoc, the Vengeance would be a good step down.

I know you have the Solid.  The comparison I was thinking of for you was Optimus Solid/Optimus Pearl in terms of the differences in reaction where the Pearl will allow you to open up the lane a little and have more angular entry in back.  Same thing with the Havoc/Vengeance.

Both Revolt options are good to have and they use the same core.  Start with the Havoc and that will work as a good ball to start with.  Then go to the Vengeance when the lanes start to break down and you need to create more entry angle downlane.  It's a good 1-2 punch covering medium to heavy patterns.

If I had to say, I'd say the shot is medium, but I think that most of us (if truth were told) don't know the true volume or type of oil used at their house, so it's all relative. Being a low rev lefty, I've had many nights where I was using higher volume equipment because nothing else would bend. I can say that my Yeti Uncaged is typically a bit weak, and the Optimus seems to fit pretty well, so my next purchase will go above it.
