Motiv Fatal Venom video and written review
« on: November 13, 2020, 12:50:50 AM »

Hello guys, here I am with my latest review, this time I had the chance to try the Fatal Venom.

The Venom Shock is probably my favorite ball of all time. My 2 perfect games has been shot with the Venom Shock and my highest series has been also shot with the Venom Shock, so I got excited when I found out about the Fatal Venom.

The Fatal Venom is designed to be a cleaner and a more angular version of the original Venom Shock and it does exactly as advertised.

I tried this ball on our fresh house shot pattern (Kegel Main Street, 41') with great success. Usually it takes me 20 to 30 minutes to shoot the video... With the Fatal Venom it took me less than 10 minutes. I got the front 10 and I felt that I just couldn't miss. Really impressive.

The Fatal Venom has a smooth and predictable roll. It revs up quickly but it pushes farther down the lane to provide a strong, but controllable backend motion.

When I missed outside my target, the ball offered enough recovery to hit the pocket, leaving some corner pins when I missed too far out. Misses inside were not as forgiving as misses outside.

This is not as angular as other balls in the lineup like the Supra, the VIP or the Nemesis, but it offers enough length to feel comfortable knowing that the ball will never hook too early and that it will have enough energy to provide a strong downlane motion.

The Fatal Venom is a great complement to the Venom Shock. When the Venom Shock gets lazy down the lane or is reading the lane too early, the Fatal Venom will be a great option to go to.

To me, it fits in between the Shock and the Supra. Is not as early as the Shock and not as angular as the Supra. I see it as a benchmark ball for medium and light oil conditions.

Overall, the Fatal Venom is a great addition to the Motiv lineup.

This ball will be a great option on broken down patterns. Once there is some friction and you need more length and a strong but controllable downlane motion, the Fatal Venom will be a great ball to go to.

Bowlers who are currently using the Venom Shock will find in the Fatal Venom a great complement and a versatile piece that will fit into a lot of bowling styles. Low rev, speed dominant bowlers will be able to use this ball playing straighter angles, while rev dominant bowlers will be able to move in and play steeper angles on most medium and light oil conditions.

Thank you for watching!

Any thoughts? Is anyone still interested in the write-ups anymore?  :-\

Enjoy seeing and reading your videos and write ups here on this forum, F/B & online. Have done so for quite some time now. Being an old geezer and not bowling since early March due to medical reasons associated the covid-19, but awaiting for a vaccine to combat this pandemic we are all involved in and hopefully soon will be back on the lanes. Yes, looking for a couple of new balls, but holding off on purchasing same until it's safe for this old man to head out once again. Thanks for all that you do for our sport.

Totally agree with the other posters here as I really appreciate your reviews.  They're thoughtful, insightful, and practical.  Also, they are a pleasant change from most of the other "reviews" that aren't reviews at all, just cut-and-paste "this ball is awesome and hits like a truck" comments that don't offer any actual information.  Please keep up the good work!
Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.

Thank you for all the feedback and the positive comments.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s still worth doing these reviews and putting the time and the effort to shoot the videos and write the reviews, and it’s for comments like this when I think "Yes, it’s still worth it".

We’ll keep it coming then.  :)
