finally threw my new Primal rage
« on: February 12, 2015, 03:39:21 PM »
Drilled w/ pin above middle finger.  PAP is 3 3/4 over , down 1/4. Pin to PAP is 4 3/4.
This ball is an animal.  Easily the strongest ball I now have.  I don't dare hit it or it's thru the beak.  I used it this morning on a THS, 39 feet, moderate oil.  Probably really too much ball for the pattern playing outside (6--8 board) where I tend to try and play.  I can see it coming into it's own on a longer pattern or maybe moving into fourth arrow and using more oil.  When I threw it well (i.e., not too much hand) it had great continuation thru the deck and would recover from anywhere but the  big grey board.  Tremendous carry if solid or thin in the pocket.  Reminds be a bit of some of the Dynothane stuff I used to throw - very sensitive to release.

I think this is a keeper.

I drilled mine pin up also and just got to try mine for the first time last night also. I didn't have much luck. We follow another league and there was a lot of carry down. I didn't even use the ball until the 3'rd game and it was very over under for me. I wound throw one that would dive and then I would try to give it a few more boards and it would skid forever. I am going to hit mine with a 4000 pad and see if I can't get a more consistent reaction.

My primal rage is my favorite ball I have ever had. I had it drilled to roll a little earlier, and it gives me a fantastic benchmark reaction as long as I keep it polished. When I sanded it to 4000 grit, I couldn't carry corner pins constantly. It did make it more controllable though. One person on here uses a 3000 grit rage on sport patterns though I believe, and loves it. The cover is a very strong cover I believe, and I did throw it sanded at a tournament that had drier wood lanes. I could have possibly used it sanded on a little bit wetter ths
