First Motiv ball GT1
« on: October 28, 2010, 01:19:38 PM »

Got my first Motiv ball in to try out. Wanted the GT1 since it was released, and finally got around to getting one.

Lanes have been medium to lighter oil this season so I decided to try a new layout for me for more control.

I went with a 65 x 2.75 x 45 layout with a P2 weight hole. I have a very limited review for this ball as of now but I'm extremely happy with the ball and the layout.

Was able to use the ball through the 7th frame of the second game without moving and loved the balls reaction. Very clean through the heads with an arc on the back end. Never jumped, or did anything crazy just rolled.

Our lanes this season are medium oil in the middle to the second arrow then they start getting dry. Most of the season I have used my Power Groove playing 12 out to 5 without problem. Usually by the 6th or 7th frame the oil is gone and you have to start making big moves left. There is no oil further right and speed increases buy you very few frames.

This ball is allowing me to start a little further inside of that and have the same smooth reaction. I didn't feel comfortable trying to move and open the lanes up at the time with the new ball and made my usual adjustment to a pearlized ball that is drilled to be a little more aggressive down lane.

Can't wait for monday night to roll around and get a little more practice and league time in with this new addition to my arsenal.
