Once again another phenominal video from Justin.

@Justin........the thing I liked the most about this video, is the fact that at the end of the video, you rolled all 3 balls ON THE SAME LINE on the same condition so you really get to see the difference in ball motion from the different layouts.  Most all videos I see they just want you to see the ball hit the pocket every shot so they play different parts of the lane when doing their comparisons.

In reference to the ball, MOTIV is definitely going in the right direction as far as releasing a niche ball into their lineup.  Would be curious to see how this ball would match up to a USBC Tournament pattern.

Sweet video. Justin is putting the best stuff out there -- hands down.

Even though the original solid Thrash was marketed as a control piece, I get a lot of the backend you see in the Frenzy video. I'm looking forward to getting the Frenzy as a compliment to the solid Thrash when it starts to be too much ball. It's going to be a great 1-2 combination.

Is this considered a "skid-flip" look by most people.  To me it looks like the reaction I love, good midlane read and then just continous movement once it starts it's move.
I have been intrigued by Motive since I live in Michigan and they produce these in the old Brunswick plant in Muskegon, MI.  I roll Brunswick now and don't see too much difference in the two companies.  What am I missing?
Long Gone also posts the honest truth which is why i respect him. He posts these things knowing some may not like it.

I also live in Michigan, and I own one Motiv ball (the Raptor P7). I really like it.
From what I've heard as far as comparisons go, Motiv's coverstocks don't exactly match up to other companies. But the cores are great and currently, you can't go wrong with a Sigma Tour, the new Thrash Frenzy, a Primal Scream, or the 2Cruel.
In the bag:

Roto Grip Magic Gem
Motiv Primal Shock
Hammer Ocean Vibe

As far as I know, they are not made in the old Big B plant but in Muskegon at a Motiv/Techline plant.
Techline made cores for Big B in the past and saw an opportunity when they moved production to Mexico.

There is enough difference in ball reaction that you can see here.  The Thrash Frenzy needs to be added.  http://www.motivbowling.com/resources/ball-guide.html

Just threw my Thrash Frenzy for the first time in practice this morning. The pin (2.75") is drilled stacked right below the ring finger, no weight hole. As you describe, it's more mid lane read and strong continuous movement at the break. I personally wouldn't call it traditional "skid flip". The way it's laid out now, I think I'd have to take it up to 4000 with polish to get a more pronounced skid/flip reaction. Still, I'm happy with it for the time being.

Motive stuff in general is more about mid lane read and a strong controlled reaction in the backend. It's very similar to much of my Lane#1 equipment, and what Brunswick is traditionally known for.
