Yes the SR2 is set for U.S release on November 1,2009

MOTIV has put the SX1 Sigma core and the TR2 MOTIVat-R cover together.This ball should fit between the GT1 and the TR2.The goal is to have a more angular
reaction.This is what a lot of people were looking for in the MOTIV line.

Well, the idea Track and Motiv share is trying to provide the average bowler with simple tools to determine what ball will best fit their game.  

The first letter indicates the CORE.  Each core is quite distinct from the others and serves a unique purpose.

The second letter indicates the COVER.  There are currently three shells and they vary in texture, absorbtion, etc.

The number tells you the number of times that core has been used at the introduction of that piece.

For example: SR2 is the second ball with the Sigma core and it uses the Motivat-R cover.  

If a bowler decides to drill multiple Motiv balls, they will know what they are getting far better than people buying balls with random names.

I don't see how going from the TX-1's core which has a higher RG(~2.54) than the SX-1's core (~2.47) is going to make the SR-2 flippier than the TR-2.

It sounds like a lower RG core is going to make it try to hook earlier, not later.

Could it be that there may be other changes, like a polished surface?
The ABS website says they're using a 2000 grit Abralon sanding followed by Power Gel polish. Hmmm, not really a huge change from the TR-2's 800 grit finish (800 grit US = ~1600 grit Abralon) other than the Power Gel polish.
I'm confused.

(I own and love an SX-1 and it's my current benchmark ball. I just ordered a TX-1.)

more angular is a good thing for them but it wont be anywhere as angular as the gt1.. but in between the tr2 and gt1 may be a good fit..

The “Reverb™” outer core of the SR2 is a low-densitypolyester resin with pin piercing hardness and strength. Rather than absorb impact energy, this outer core reverberates energy as it explodes through the pins.

Combine this with “MOTIVat-R” reactive urethane on the cover and Motiv suggests “you have a deadly weapon of destruction in the palm your hand.” The SR2 is sanded to 2000 at the factory and then brought to a luster with Power Gel® Polish. Expect the Motiv SR2 November 1st.
