so how is a concept, a "reply" (as defined in the reference), relative to a person, as used in the OP's subject: the address to a person??

Ah, the irony of it all...
Back to the topic... Sounds like a perfect fit between the "red ball"l and the Tribal. Now to see if they release a more even reacting cover over the Halogen core...

an't wait to get a couple. I love the Sigma Tour. Haven't thrown my Sigma Hybrids yet

Makes me wonder the same.
They seem to have a released a strng of strong flippy pearls:
Raptor Attack
Thrash Frenzy
Venom Toxin
Primal Rage
Tribal
Cruel Intent
and now
the Sigma Sting.
Is the Venom Strike the only solid control-lie ball left?
-
Is the Primal Scream flippy?

Haha like "dudes." I use it in terms of nerdy people over the internet...

I agree that that they've gone overboard with the skip/flippy stuff lately. What originally drew me to Motiv was their focus on even rolling control. I recently wanted another solid medium/heavy control piece for my sport shot league, and I ended up going with a Storm IQ Tour.
I hope that sometime in 2014 they start getting back to their roots.

On its intended oil patterns (medium to medium-heavy oil for avg speed & revs bowler) , yes, as far as I have seen. On other patterns, no.
One guy used it Tuesday night in league on a medium-light oil pattern; he left a 5/7/10 with it. Some people never know when to use new balls. And, of course, it was drilled fairly full strength, what people used to call stacked leverage.

MOTV won't go away from its strengths guys, don't worry! On the other hand they are releasing stuff that they were lacking before. MOTIV has given me the most well rounded lineup I've ever had...
Yes, last 3-4 releases have been as some say skid/flip, but before the Primal Rage (#redball) it was a major void for MOTIV. There are still many even rolling pieces: Raptor Talon, Sigma Hybrid, Venom Strike and even the Tank. Plus they also have the equipment in between!

Motiv was known for great "control" balls. Even when you look at earlier attempts at more of a skid flip reaction (Primal Impulse, QZ2, Raptor Attack), it was apparent their covers weren't up to par in reaction time as other companies like Storm/Roto or even Ebonite. So what you end up with is a line up of a bunch of even rolling pearls where the goal was to have skid/snap reactions. This was Motiv's "hole" up and down their line up.
Now, Motiv has the cover technology to produce a skid/snap ball much like the other bigger name companies. Once they got that, they needed to fill in their line up, which equates to about 4 balls.
Plus, Motiv releases balls differently than other companies. Instead of releasing 4-6 balls at say, BowlExpo, Motiv releases 1 ball about every 6 weeks.
Motiv has an even rolling ball at each performance category (except perhaps medium heavy with the Primal Scream, though cover changes can fix that).

Yea, that's exactly the niche I was getting at. I have a Primal Scream, and even with more surface, it doesn't give me the medium heavy reaction I was looking for. In fairness, I set mine up with the pin over the middle finger (too far from my PAP), so I'm not getting optimal performance benefit. Still my feeling is that even with the proper drill and cover prep, my Scream wouldn't handle oil as well as my IQ Tour.
I believe there is too much of a gap between the Primal Scream and the Raptor Talon. Motiv needs a new solid symmetric to fill that gap. If they do, that's a ball I'd be interested in.

really interested in picking one up...this would be like a step or 2 up from the venom toxin correct? im thinking this ball first game and then to the toxin....

I would say you have the right mind set. Start out with the Sigma Sting and if it becomes too much switch to Toxin or Tribal

IMO even with the stronger pearl covers Whiplash and Fusion you can make them less skid/snap with layout-weaker and lower surface grits rather than polish. Plus even over 1500/Motiv Power Gel Polish or 2000/Motiv Power Gel Polish I have never been able to replicate those OOB finishes. I did recently find another way to replicate them to a close OOB appearance and ball motion.
Here is a pic of Tribal which is not at all skid/snap with OOB cover.
75*(PAP-pin-PSA)x5"x65* I have a Venom Strike with same layout and very much the control layout.

That maybe why I just purchased a discontinued NIB Raptor P7. I already have one I use all the time, but that is the most consistent ball I use. I LOVE the drive thru the pin deck. I admit I also look for the delayed hook they advertise on their website, which has encouraged me to buy a Sigma Tour, QZ2 Backdraft, Cruel, and a used Primal.
I also noticed my Raptor keeps the same grit I prefer with out sanding it every week.
Why is that? Is it because their coverstocks have a higher Duromoter reading?
I honestly don't know. Most everything else I own shines up over time.
Just an observation. don

In my being forced to drop to 12# because of recent back surgery (Dr's orders) my driller Anne Marie Duggan has suggested the Primal Scream for me to start and then go from there. She doesn't carry Motiv, but has drilled a few Primal Screams and she likes what she has seen for different styles and thinks it would work well and carry the best for me in 12# weights.

Would the Sigma Sting be above the Primal since it has a low rg and low diff where as the Primal has a high Rg and high diff?

No. Regardless of which primal you're talking about. The low rg should help it hook earlier, but the low diff would create less overall flare potential. Maybe if theyre drilled radicallly different from each other, but typically, the sting should be more even and less overall than either Primal.

Matt: I was referring to the Primal Rage. So the Sting would be earlier and smoother and the Primal would be longer and stronger on the back. I would put the Sting then above the Primal in an arsenal then if i was listing it from earliest to latest.
-
It will go in the middle between the Thrash Frenzy and Sigma Hybrid and fill that hole. It's where the Sigma Tour was. I am not sure how it will wind up being that Sigma Tour was an Atomix Solid to a Fusion Pearl on the Sting. Fusion and Whiplash covers are stronger than the covers used previously.

Ah I see. Earliest to latest yes. When I read your originl post I assume that by above you meant more overall in the way of hook potential.
Sorry for the confusion, but yes, definitely earlier. With the same fusion pearl cover I would imagine the rage would be a nice step once the sting starts going too early.

Matt: I appreciate the explanation. I think Motiv is on the right track and i believe with the last few skid flip releases it is really making their line up an all around product. The Fusion pearl cover has put Motiv on the map. Do you think the Cruel Intent is going to be a versatile ball (drilling wise) for the Medium to Heavy patterns?
