I understand what you are saying. And on the outside, it would seem to make sense. However, how does a manufacturer provide consistency if there is no control over the final product that ends up in the customer's hands? (inconsistency of swirl patterns)
If the costumer drills and rolls over a specific part of the ball, how does the manufacturer guarantee they are seeing the right type of reaction the manufacturer designed?
A prime example was the Storm Frantic with the orange and green colors. Many of the Frantics were two big globs, one orange and one green. Storm wouldn't be able to guarantee consistency between balls unless each color was the same material. Saying each color is different is the same as saying you can drill a Frantic to be a Furious or a Fast or somewhere in between, all in one ball. But in reality, regardless of which part of the ball you roll over, you saw the same reaction.
