LETHAL PARANOIA

Lethal Paranoia
This ball is something that truly fits my game. Something that I have been looking for from the Motiv line for quite some time. Fitting in with the new Motiv Quest the Lethal Paranoia is such a great compliment that these may be the only 2 balls I will ever need. The incredible ease through the front of the lane coupled with the intense backend motion makes this a very versatile ball. From the Typical house shot through the toughest of PBA patterns the consistency of this balls reaction and continuation make it a go to ball for many different style players. With the new combination of the Hexion Coverstock and Oblivion Weight block this ball goes above and beyond in both length and angular motion. With its higher RG it saves max energy for max continuation through the pins… The Lethal Paranoia is a must have ball – don’t be the only one in the House not throwing one.. Its truly LETHAL!

Never heard of a "skid flip" monster being referred to as having consistency before. Unless you mean consistently unpredictable.

I've thrown mine a few times down the lane, and it does have a use. but having the Quest and the Lethal as your only two balls? And on sport conditions?

Please...

I'm SURE it has nothing to do with these being the "latest and greatest" in the Motiv line up.

And for the majority of people a 3+ year old Venom Shock would be much better for their arsenal.  Only Motiv ball I own and love it.  Don't care how old it is or what line its from.
Kind of noob when made this account so take advice with grain of salt.

I like my Lethal a lot better at 2000 instead of the OOB finish.  Definitely I am able to use ball more on the medium stuff.  OOb it just went too long and straight for me.

The few times I threw mine, I noticed the same thing, not completely straight, but it does appear to need some friction. But that's okay, I have a use for that reaction at times. I have plenty of stuff that fits the slot of a 2000 grit finish Lethal.

I like having different reactions and lengths, but then again, I own a bunch of balls.  ;D

Tonight should tell me which way to go with Lethal.  House hooks quite a bit outside. At OOB my Lethal and Tag Cannon were quite similar to me. If 2000 on my Lethal is too much tonight I am going to try 4000. I am just trying to create some separation between my Lethal and Tag Cannon. The Shock is simply too good at 2000 to bring it back to OOB. I still see a difference between Ghost and Shock both at 2000.

Tag Cannon is by no means a "dry" lane ball for me. On our house shot my Tag Cannon is only a couple boards weaker than my DV8 Creed. The Cannon is definitely cleaner, but when i ball down im still in the same spot because of how much it hooks. What sold me on the Cannon was bowling on Viper shortly after drilling it and feeling like i couldn't miss with it in the later games

I actually found my Tag Cannon to be real close to the Lethal. Was kind of surprised by this .  Trying to put some distance between the 2 balls. Brought the Lethal up to 2000.We shall find out tonight if there is more separation between the 2 balls.  I guess my only real dry lane ball is my Blue Hammer. Been using the Ghost and Shock both at 2000 almost everywhere I bowl. What a great combination so far.

I would imagine the freestyle is more of a reaction you would want on the burn. Cannon is just too strong.

I'm wondering what people who have the OG Paranoia think of the Lethal.

I'm wondering what people who have the OG Paranoia think of the Lethal.

I finally got a good idea of my Lethal last night. We have a high level scratch trios league on Tuesday nights at EA Dublin bowl. Our league follows a very low skill level handicap league where a lot of house balls, other plastic, heavy oil monsters, 500 grit sanded urethane and pretty much anything else you can think of are used, so you never know what condition you will see each week.

I tried the Lethal in shadow a couple of throws, just to get an idea of what to expect, then went to a Revolt Havoc at 2000. The Havoc looked good to start, but of course as soon as shadow was over, the lanes were burnt for everyone on our pair. I struggled out of the gate with the Havoc for four frames until I decided to ball down. Usually at this point, I would go to the Venom Cobra or the original Paranoia and make a jump left. But instead I went back to the Lethal and it gave me a good look as it gets great length with a nice finish.

My final thoughts are this; the original Paranoia is actually the stronger of the two balls. The original makes an almost brutal left hand turn as soon as it sniffs friction, so it's great for swinging the lane when required. The Lethal gets easy length on a beat up(but not total burned up) pattern and has a strong finish. Motiv(and therefore every staffer who does reviews) claim the Lethal is their "bestest ever" down lane flip ball. I personally think the original has a more angular motion than the Lethal. But the Lethal is a sweet thing. It reminds me of the original Lane Masters Buzz/Legends Masterpiece with that long, easy length getting down the lane with enough movement to finish the job. Another ball I would compare it to is the old Primal Impulse.

It's nice to get a new Motiv ball I really like after two in a row that were less than impressive for me in the Forza SS and Tribal Quest.

The preceding is only my opinion based on about two and a half games, your results may vary.

Bingo!!  I think I found the right surface for my Lethal. 4000 was perfect for my game. Fits right in between my Shock at 2 k and my Tag Cannon at 5500 polish. Took a few different tries to get it right but at 4k ball rolls great. Ghost and Shock at 2 k, Lethal at 4 k and Tag Cannon at 5500 polish. Think I am set for a while. At least that is what I told my wife  lol
