You all may remember Marc McDowell for being the first to throw a reactive resin ball on a PBA show. After being with Ebonite for the past several years, he has made the switch to MOTIV. Marc is also switching back to Vise Grips too.

I remember that well.Xcaliber from Nu-line was the ball that made me a ton of money.Didn't realize he still bowled PBA.Haven't seen that name in a long time.Think he was president of the PBA for a while.

I thought Charley Tapp threw the Excaliber first on TV?

I had an Excaliber and LOVED it. Ditto for some of my bowling friends. Seems after it was out a bit and started being really popular, they had Columbia start making the ball and the ball was never the same after that. A couple of my friends bought the Columbia made ones and those balls didn't have the same move on the lanes and were DOA when they got to the pin deck.

Marc ws an independent at that time. He was a member of Hammer staff before EBI had the brand. Hammer fell behind in reactive resin cover technology.
The one thing that Motiv is on top of now is their covers. Much better than when they started. I am very impressed with the Motiv Venom Shock and will be using more.
