So I've had my Revolt for a little over a week now, and I've been able to throw a few sets with it.
I tried something a little different with this ball to create a reaction that has been lacking in my bag for quite some time..a smooth one. I decided to drill it pin down, which is a stray from the norm for me on a low rg ball. For the dual angle fans, it's 70 x 4 x 70. Puts the pin right below my ring finger. I expected smooth, which I got, but I didn't expect to be as impressed by it as I am.
I bowl on 42 foot heavy volume ths, on Brunswick Anvilanes. I have low tilt (10) and high rotation (70) and a little above average rev rate (375-400). I generally throw the ball about 16.5-17 mph on the monitors.
The best way to describe the reaction I get out of the revolt is smooth power. I do square up with it a bit because the drill dictates it, but it is a fantastic ball. It walks into the pocket and hits very well. For being as smooth rolling as it is I expected the occasional flat hit or deflection. I've seen none of that yet. If I miss outside it just starts hooking a little earlier, still gets back to the pocket and (more times than not) carries. Misses inside tend to hold and still have enough drive to carry. It is truly a winner. I've thrown it three sets now. I have shot 707, 721, 720 with it. My average varies from around 215-220 ish, and I'm not saying I would not have bowled well with something else, just that I was supremely confident in the smooth, reliable, predictable motion I get out of the Covert Revolt each time it leaves my hand. Having that much confidence really frees me up and leads to better shots.
I'm not a Motiv staffer, just a fan, and pro shop operator lucky enough to have been able to purchase it pre-release date. I have nothing to gain by doing this review, but if you're considering this ball, I would say without a doubt it is a winner. Great, great ball.
I will absolutely be buying at least one more.
Any info or questions by all means ask. I've collected quite a few Motiv pieces lately, and I would love to answer any questions or help out in any way I can.
