Title: Motiv arsenal

Have a nib Primal Rage, with pin out 3.5" Looking for a layout.
Specs: RH, AT:8*, AR:45-60*, Revs:300, Speed:16-17, PAP: 5 1/4" right & 3/4" up
60* x 4 - 4 1/4" x 20 for the Rage??

Would the Cruel Intent & Sigma Sting be good compliments to the Rage? If so, what are your thoughts on layouts for them?

I like that layout for the rage for you. Being that you're a bit speed dominant using lower overall totals like that is usually successful.

As far as the sting and the intent, they would be pretty gold compliments, but the intent, depending on drill, could end up being very similar to the rage. If it were me, I would probably go with the tribal or the toxin as opposed to the intent, only because you have nothing even close to a lighter oil ball in the three you mentioned. The sting is crazy good. I wouldn't take that out for any reason.

Thanks Matt. Will go with the 60* x 4" x 20* layout on the Rage.
With the Sting, is 65* x 4 1/4-4 1/2"" x 30 enough of a change to compliment the Rage? Figure since its not as flippy down lane, the pin distance & val angle will help it get down lane & just roll firm off the spot.

Appreciate your feedback & look forward to drilling some Motiv nuggets.

I would probably go 4 1/2 to separate them a bit.

I like complimenting a bowling ball's strength, so we're on the same page with the sting too, making it start just a bit earlier and a little slower reaction to friction. The core in that thing will naturally be a little more rolly, so I wouldn't go crazy, but the numbers you mentioned looked good. Little higher on both angles. Let us know what you think. I've never bowled better since I've switched to all motiv a few weeks ago. You won't be disappointed. Let me know too, if you've got questions or concerns. I'd be glad to help.

Thanks again Matt! Am drilling the Primal Rage this weekend. Will let you know soon how it rolls. Hopefully Santa brings me a Sting for Christmas!! ;D
