I had shooting pains in my wrist tonight too and was doubting myself going bowling.
Had a wrist brace on. I never use any sort of glove or support on my hand. It did not alleviate any pain, but made it less strenuous.

I'm in the process of trying to find out where I fit in the bowling world. I do not know my tech specs of my game, but it's all a learning process.
