Primal Rage vs Primal Scream

For medium oil to medium-oil lanes, for those of you that have had/thrown both balls, what do you find different between the two balls and which do you prefer?

Talked to my driller (Anne Marie Duggan) yesterday and she recommends I start with the Primal Scream when I can hopefully return to bowling in approx 3 weeks or so. I was trying to choose between the DV8 Marauder Madness, Brunswick Meanstreak Beatdown, and the Primal Scream and even though she throws a lot of Storm and some Brunswick, she feels the Primal Scream will fit me best to start. She hasn't thrown a Scream or any Motiv ball, but has drilled a few and saw what they did for different style bowlers.

Anne Marie knows her stuff.  I'd agree with her also Jim.

Personally for my stats. and lane conditions that I see , I use a Primal Scream stronger drill pin up for medium-heavy and a weak drilled pin down Tribal for league type house conditions.

Thanks for the info Scotts

Anne Marie Duggan received my 12# Primal Scream from her distributor and drilled it Wed. Since I have slower speed and low revs without much hand and need help at times to get the ball into a roll early enough, we decided on a 50 x 3 3/8 x 65 drill with Pin under RF and a P3 hole. I have that same drill on my 14# Versa-Max and LOVE that ball, so we felt it should work on the Primal Scream. If this ball would roll too early, I can always add polish to adjust.

Because of my recent back problems and surgery, I can't try it yet until next week. Right now, I am like a little kid at Christmas and can hardly wait to try it and see how 12# works for me.

Brick, good choice on ball, and it's a good drill pattern choice. The Scream is one of the better versatility balls available in the medium oil segment.

I just ordered a second Scream that I'm going to set up similar to yours. Hopefully, it works out for you.

I drilled 2 Screams last year right before I had to Quit bowling. #1 60x4.5x35  #2 60x5.25x70. #2 is far more versatile for me but both have prominent places in my Friday Arsenal this year
Current arsenal

Tried my new 12# MOTIV Primal Scream today. First time I have bowled since hurting my back the last week of August which led to back surgery after that.

Next, after the back surgery, the Dr said .... 12# balls only .... and as I have posted before, I was worried about 12# balls not working worth a "D" and etc. .... Next those of you that throw or have thrown 12# balls told me the 12# would work well and you know what? .... You are right, once I got going today, the ball exceeded my expectations.

Here is my first experience .... Not wanting to go overboard the first time out after not bowling since the last week of August and the back surgery and so forth, I was scared and limited myself to 2 games. The first 5 frames I threw 5 gutter balls and had 43 and an open in the 5th frame. With my confidence slowly building, I finished that game and ended with a 149 and was overjoyed since I had a 43 and an open in the 5th. .... On my second and last game, I had one split, and ended with a 196. With my confidence up and my timing and release seeming better before I had to quit bowling, I wanted to bowl another game, but talked myself out of it as I didn't want to over do it the first time out. Will try 3 games the next time I bowl.

To sum it up, I need to try the 12# ball more, but at this point I am over joyed with it and doubt I will go back to 14#. May put all of my 14# balls up for sale in a few days.
