I've seen a few different posts on here about how pleased some of you have been with Motiv's equipment. Some have mentioned switching from throwing storm/roto grip exclusively to throwing motiv. What differences do you see in Motiv's equipment when compared to other brands? I've considered trying Motiv, but never made the leap.

 So my speed is around 17.5 and rev rate around 425 rpm. If i decided to try some Motiv equipment what would be recommended? I am currently throwing the following storm/roto:

Tropical breeze hybrid
Uproar
Optimus
Asylum
Hy-Road Solid
Hyper Cell

Blueprint:  Start with the Sigma Sting.  That ball is the true definition of benchmark and versatility.  The Covert Revolt is a great medium-heavy piece that's very smooth and lets you chase the oil in.  The Octane is a great skid/snap hybrid that can be used when you need a different motion from the Sting.

Don't sleep on the Venom Shock. It's easily one of the best balls on the market right now. Tons of bang for your buck.

You could use similar layouts on the Octane and Sigma Sting as the covers are different.  The Octane uses a brand new hybrid cover called Agility SFX which is designed for true skid/flip, whereas the Sigma Sting uses a version of the Fusion Pearl cover that first came out on the Primal Rage last year.  The Agility cover will be cleaner up front whereas the Fusion will read earlier.  Overall, the motions will be completely different.  Basically when the Sigma Sting is reading too early, go to the Octane as it will give you more length and a strong backend.

On the Covert Revolt, mine was drilled pin up.  This is because I wanted something that would still give me a good combination of length but have additional backend on some heavier volume.  For heavy volume, I can still go to my Defiant or Critical Theory.  Drilling the Revolt pin down will cause it to read earlier, making the ball motion very smooth (it's already smooth/predictable with pin up).  Keep in mind how early it reads will depend on the layout you use in combination with the surface you go with.  In my case, box surface has been plenty for what I need.

A little of topic, but isn't MOTIV a sister company of VBP?
If so, some of their stuff might be able to compliment the MOTIV stuff.

They are not

Motiv and Visionary are independent.  IIRC, Visionary came to be after Faball was acquired by EBI.

Motiv seems to have the most durable, easily adjustable covers on the market.  They don't seem to be as sensitive to surface adjustments as other companies.  Oil absorption is much slower.  Consistency and versatility is off the planet good.  The length and backend transition is really what sells it for me.  Even the big hooking stuff gets pretty easy length, and the backend transition is consistent, strong, and continuous out of everything.  Lately I've been looking at shaking it up and trying something from another company.  Everything I look at is either I don't like the reaction shape, there's overlap here, that ball isn't interesting, etc., but Motiv is almost frustrating because I want everything lol.  Storm used to have the market on reactions and reaction shapes, but Motiv has recently overtaken them, specifically with the Shock, the Octane, and the Tribal Fire.  Motiv has absolutely every reaction you could want.
