So a re-release of the Forge Fire with more surface and different colors.

Not saying that's a bad thing...

And what exactly is MXC? Short hand for "look, it's new and improved"?

My Forge Fire is getting a bit long in the tooth, so a replacement is good, but this one is mor than likely the same thing.

Ha, MXC is a re-tuning called Maximum Continuation, I think it debuted with the Forge Flare.

From throwing mine a bit the past few days i'd call it a stronger Fire, it's closer to Flare in strength, but it's a little quicker downlane than the Flare.

It's still a strong, chuggy ball like all the forges besides the Iron have been. I like what i'm seeing so far, but it's early. I've just always matched up well with the forge line's core.

My Fire is pretty dead after probably 300 games at this point so I don't think it'll add a lot of video when I film some comparisons.

Already have mine pre-ordered, love the Forge line. I haven't matched up with the Flare as well as I'd like to. Have you tweaked the surface yet, Mike? The Fire was 4000 LSS and the Ember is 2000 LSS.

I have not, probably 12 or so games on the Ember so far, the Fire I always hit lightly by hand with a 2000 abralon to maintain it when I bagged it. The Fire's I had made me a LOT of money and it was really my benchmark ball for a long time, the Ember just feels stronger than that benchmark spot, but has the shape I got from my Fire.

I filmed some today when practicing and will continue to do so over the next few weeks and will share some video content. If there's anything you would like to see it compared to let me know, I don't have everything, but i've got the current ball chart and a few other, older pieces as well.

Perhaps is "feels stronger" because of the surface.

Using Motiv's ball compare, it is still just a replacement for the Forge Fire. Not that that's a bad thing, and the colors are better at least.

EMBER
Length:16 Backend:17  Hook:61 Surface: 2000

Fire
Length:16 Backend:17.5 Hook: 56 Surface 4000

Same ball, different surface.

Just my opinion. And I will be buying one. Not complaining, just sayin'

Which is exactly why I won' be buying one. Both Hybrids. Too similar. Change the surface on either one and it can do whatever the other one does.
Balls: Motiv Trident Abyss, Motiv Mythic Jackal, Motiv Trident Odyssey, Motiv Venom Shock, Motiv Hyper Venom and Motiv Hyper Sniper. All made in the USA. Long live the Turbulent core!

I usually wait on BTM to see what they say and go by their numbers. Gave my brother my Fire to see what he could do with it. He has both the Forge and Fire and has been throwing them well.

For me, the Fire has been the best of the Forge line. I have two drilled now, one 4000K with lite polish and one at 2000K sanded.

My original Forge just cracked this past weekend. Not from the fingers and/or thumbhole, but from a logo seperation along the M and spread about 3 inches on the top and bottom of the M.

I get the surface comments, and definitely can see where you would think that, but I find the Ember feeling a lot more on the Forge Flare strength sides. Easiest way to compare how I feel it different than the fire and not just in surface, is the Jackal Ghost was always a step up from the Forge Fire for me, no matter the surface, Ghost was just more ball. The Ember compared to a Ghost is earlier, and hooks as much, if not a little more, and I confidently say that as I just drilled a fresh Ghost around the time of drilling my Ember.

Ember also isn't lane shining as fast as the Fire did. Apologies if sounded like hype man staff guy, but I just really see the Ember's cover as a bit more than you guys may be expecting. Mine out hooks my LE Revolt Uprising by a good bit too.

I'm meeting up with some fellow staffers today to shoot some video and hoping to get the rest of my filming done this week to get a video up for y'all,

Thanks for clarifying. I have my Flare at 2000 LSS so I'll compare the two at that surface. Going to drill it pin up and mess around with the surface. Looking forward to the videos.

Fair enough. We both know how the same ball reacts differently for each bowler. You have actually thrown the ball, I only going by my suspicion of how it will react. You are probably correct
