Which Motiv ball is/was the best for heavy oil? From what I have read it looks like the Raptor Talon is the goto Motiv ball for heavy oil. Am I right? How do the more current balls of the Jackal and Cruel Intent compare.
In your opinion what is the best motive ball for heavy oil? Something above the Primal Rage

Right now, your best bet would be the Raptor Talon and Jackal. The Talon is a very early rolling ball while the Jackal will be cleaner through the front part of the lane with a strong midlane reaction. Since the Talon is most likely discontinued I would keep an eye on what Motiv may come out with in August/September. Since they have the new Tank out next month and a rumored Primal ball in July, it'll probably be a few months before we see a new heavy oil ball.

The Raptor Talon was discontinued a few months ago, so that may be tougher to find. The Jackal is good on heavy oil and is one of the few pearl cover balls that will truly work on heavy oil. Strengthwise, the Talon and Jackal are both rated the same at 57 using Motiv's rating system. The difference is that the Talon being a solid cover reads the mids much quicker and is heavier rolling whereas the Jackal having the dull pearl cover will be cleaner but be a bit more angular in back.
It'll be interesting to see what gets released over the next few months.
