When Motiv released the Primal Rage in 2013, it was a game changer for the company, the ball impressed a lot of people and brought Motiv its first national PBA title.
Now Motiv is bringing back the Primal Rage for a limited time and that they called it the Primal Rage LE. The LE uses the same Impulse V2 core found in the original, but now its wrapped in the Fusion HX pearl coverstock, providing a strong and angular downlane motion.
I was a fan of the original Rage. It was one of the first Motiv balls I've ever tried and my first pearl ball... I loved it.
The Primal Rage LE is basically the same ball as the original #redball. The only difference I see between the Rage and the LE is that the LE it might be a tad stronger than the original.
I had the opportunity to try this ball and all I can say is that I am glad that Motiv brought this ball back at least for a limited time.
While the LE is not the most angular ball from Motiv, it offers lots of recovery and a strong angular backend motion.
For me this ball fits in between the Trident Quest and the Lethal Paranoia in terms of hook potential. It is weaker than the Quest but it stronger than the Lethal Paranoia.
The Primal Rage LE offered me a big margin of error in our house shot. When I missed outside my mark, the ball always recovered and allowed me to relax and release the ball more freely. Misses inside offered me enough hold and the ball still picked up in the oil to make its move to the pocket. I feel this ball will be a great option when you need more length and you need to create more angle in the last part of the lane.
The Primal Rage LE is clean through the fronts and it has a strong downlane motion, but it is more predictable than balls like the Lethal Paranoia or even the original Primal Rage.
If you loved the Primal Rage or you need something stronger than the Lethal Paranoia, then the Primal Rage LE will definitely be a good piece to have in the bag. #redball lovers will be more than happy having this ball in their hands.
Thank you for watching!
