I can honestly say not looking forward to another x series ball.  I been rolling the TZ3 and love the reaction.  I'll give it a shot regardless.

Motiv's answer to the popular Storm Natural.
It states the reaction is like a urethane ball.
Kinda looks like the old Columbia Pirhanna.

People have said the SX-1 had a urethane-like reaction. I didn't see that. The covers just absorb less than traditional resin but still absorb. They absorb faster than urethane, though. At one point in time urethane's absorption rate was 1/20th of resin's rate and resins absorb MUCH faster now.

The Motivator-X coverstock is first, last and always resin. Never forget that, no matter how much the ball reaction MAY look urethane-like to your release.

Nice looking logo with the orange. I rarely bowl on short/light oil unless it's a major tournament. I may have to pass on this ball and wait til their other release in August.

This is an exciting release.  I think it's important that it is resin.  There are too many companies in the niche market with the urethane.  Brunswick has the new Urethane Avalanche and Roto is coming out with the Grenade.  T

The Recon can offer a super controllable resin and that is something else entirely.  The dry lane resins from the Ebonite brands are all too strong or too flippy if not both.  A weak resin shell with a tall, low diff. core should provide a unique look and fill a hole in the market.  

My plan is to get my hands on one and put the pin on the PAP.

Hey, if you're lucky, it will compare well with the Brunswick Slingshot. It's just barely a step above the Avalanche urethane.

I really think it will be weaker than the slingshot.  The cores are VERY similar in specifications, but PowerKoil 17 is much stronger than the Motivator-X in my experience.  It will be interesting to see.

The recon should be weaker then a slingshot with similar drillings... Also I have a preorder going on them for 93 shipped to your door.. excellent way to try out motiv if you havent already!

But the Slingshot is polished. The Recon is sanded to 4000 grit. That also will make a difference.
