Going to be giving Motiv a try here shortly so wanted to see which ball you would recommend someone try thats never thrown Motiv before. I'm not looking for a specific reaction so lets hear what you think.

The first motiv ball I tried was the GT1. I heard rave reviews on it and was interested in trying them, much like you are right now, so I chose that one. It didn't disappoint at all. Very nice rolling ball. Reminded me a lot of the old brunswick stuff pre-mexico. Smooth and controllable, strong enough to handle volume and carry down. As far as the newer stuff, Qz1's are probably the most versatile balls I've ever seen. The Cruel looks like it'll be the huge hook monster of the year, but won't suffer burn up like the invasion did due to the hybrid cover. Recon looks like a good weapon for guys with hand and people that bowl on wood, low volume, etc. Can't say much for those last two as they haven't been released yet, but if you start with a GT1, SR2, or QZ1 you won't be disappointed.

The first one I tried was the TX-1. I was very disappointed. I had it drilled with a very simple label leverage, pin out, cg in the middle of the grip, and the ball would not move. It revved up like it was going to make a hard turn, but never did. I traded it for a Rival.

I thought about getting a different one, as I see people using these pieces and scoring, but I can't spend the money not knowing what I'm going to get.

My 1st time was wit the SR2 and love it than tried QZ1 have 2 of them 1 drilled for drier lanes I love them they give me a different look than my other equipment does

Strange, isn't it?
I put a standard drill on mine, not quite sure what to do with it: pin in ring finger and CG stacked below. The thing is almost uncontrollable with the stock 1000 grit + Polish finish. It gets out to about 40 feet on medium oil and make a left hand turn, as strong as any ball I've ever thrown. GOing to take the surface to 2000 grit and add a dose of their Gell polish back on and see if that tones it downa bit.

Yea it blew my mind. I made a video of it on Youtube comparing it to my Agent Orange. I was pretty excited about Motiv, and have heard nothing but good things about the QZ series, and was hoping to see some good results with the TX-1. Here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBTqG6d4L0E.

I tried it on different shots and scuffed up the surface a bit, not much difference.

I didn't see you throw the TX-1 in that video. At what time spot is it?
Was the Agent Orange at its stock surface (500 grit DULL)? It's VERY rough. You must have a lot more ball speed than revs and the video makes you look like you have plenty of revs. I remain puzzled. If the AO is stock, you need the TX-1 to be at the same roughness - 500 grit Abralon dull, to make it at least equivalent. The polish would kill it Especially if you left a 7-9 with the AO.

Thanks for the replies guys. So it looks like maybe an SR2 or Purple QZ1 would be a good first ball to try.

Mine both are the red one I under estimated it cuz it was 2000 wit polish boy was I wrong even the one I have drilled lefty 4 dry is strong

you definitly won't be disapointed with the SR2 or the QZ1, both are great. the SR2 will give you more hook and a little bit more angle at the breakpoint than the QZ1 with the same layout. If you are looking for somthing for dry lanes check out the new RECON rx1, that ball is a beast on dry lanes! Or if you are looking for a really strong asymetric ball, wait till aug and pick up a CRUEL c51, that ball is gonna be sick!
