What do you see as the difference between these two. The silver Recon is 4000 and the Ascent Pearl is 2000 grit?
Is that it?

Same core different covers (Recon MOTIVator-X & Ascent MOTIVator-Z ). Surface is whatever you make it so that is not a variable unless you have to have them in OOB.
X is weaker than Z how much somewhat but not a huge difference IMO.

ie X = Powerkoil 17 Z = Powerkoil 18?
Also, is the Silver Box=4000? Ascent box = 2000?

Both with polish over those grits.
Z is stronger than X. I would not venture a guess as to PK17 and PK18 as a direct comparison.
