Motiv Ripcord Velocity video and written review
« on: November 03, 2021, 05:04:16 PM »

Hello everyone! It's been a while since we posted our last review, but fortunately we are back in business!

This time we had the chance to test the new Ripcord Velocity and trust us, this ball is as angular as it gets!

The Ripcord Velocity features the Oblivion core used first on the Paranoia series and now it has been the one Motiv has used on the Ripcord series.

This ball is wrapped with the Infusion MVP pearl coverstock, which has a fast response to friction.

The Velocity is by far the cleanest and most angular ball in the Ripcord series. Motiv is characterized for how smooth and predictable their products are, but since they released the first Ripcord and then the Supra, they have been producing great products designed to be angular, clean and sharp down the lane.

I started laying the ball around 10 and having 5 as my breakpoint and I noticed that the Lethal Paranoia needed more room to keep it on the left side of the lane. I had to move about 4 and 2 to find a good line to the pocket.

The Ripcord Velocity is very clean through the front part of the lane and it makes a strong change of direction when it hits the friction.

I found that misses inside are better than misses outside. When I missed inside, the ball provided enough hold to never overreact when it hits the friction, while misses outside or when I find friction too soon resulted in the ball going through the nose.

As I kept using the ball during this review, the reaction only got better. The Velocity really shines when the lanes start to break down.

This ball complements other balls in the Motiv lineup. When stronger or smoother balls start reading the lane too early or when you need more length and more shape down the lane, the Ripcord Velocitu will be a great option to go to.

I think this is not the best option to bowl on fresh oil conditions, especially if you are stroker, Motiv has plenty of options to use on fresh and with a smoother and more predictable shape, the Velocity will be a useful weapon once you find some friction… That is where this ball really shines.

I think this is a good addition to the Motiv lineup. Bowlers who love to swing the ball and see a strong, angular backend motion will love this ball.

The Ripcord Velocity is a great option when you need more shape down the lane, when you need to play steeper angles and when you need to fight the transition.

Thank you for watching! MORE REVIEWS COMING SOON!
