First off, I'm not a staffer. I'm just a house hack who throws mostly Motiv for no particular reason other than that is the brand I buy.
I picked up my new T10 yesterday and used it in league last night. It's drilled with the pin an inch above the ring finger with the cg directly below on a 3 inch pin ball. My PAP is 5 over, 0 up/down. If you want angles, do the math. My ball speed is 15.5-16 with 350ish revs.
The conditions were a 40 ft house shot and walled enough to cause a somewhat over/under nightmare for a lot of bowlers in the beginning of the set. The league is five person teams, scratch, match point scoring with a 1080 combined average cap.
In shadow, I had trouble keeping the ball from jumping past the head pin as it hooked more than I anticipated. I didn't hit the pocket once in shadow, even with moving left several times. I decided to stay with it at the start of the first game and struggled for the first five frames with the ball hooking too early. I changed my release in frame six and found a great look. Strike in six, ringing ten in seven, then struck out for a 202. My head to head opponent went front five and I thought I was in for a long night until the transition came. He finished with a 199 and had a generally poor attitude for the rest of the night.
Started the second game with a strike, ringing ten for a spare in the second, then a string of high flush pocket strikes. Tugged the first ball in the tenth for a big four leaving an open for a 235.
Third game was similar to the second finishing with an easy 232. A 669 series that should have been 750ish without the mistakes on my part.
In short, it's good ball for me. It's a different ball motion than I'm used to seeing with the Venom balls, but a fantastic roll. It's surprisingly strong, but with the correct release it is a shot making machine. By the end of the night, I had total confidence in what the ball was going to do. I would consider this to be a bench mark ball and it will get a lot of use. Long heavy oil will render this ball useless as will drier conditions, although it was still going strong at the end of the set last night.
I plan to purchase a second one and use a different surface. It reminds me of the SR2(probably because it's the same color scheme) I used for a long time. A bigger down lane move than the SR2, even in the dull box finish. If it was polished, I think this ball would really be a skid flip monster.
It's not the "bestest ball ever", it won't cure erection problems and it doesn't hit like a freight train, Mack truck or anything else with wheels and an engine. It just knocks down pins.
