Motiv - short oil patterns
« on: March 23, 2020, 11:42:05 AM »
I have been on a good roll since turn of the new year, looking forward to bowling league and some senior tournaments on a variety of patterns.  Exploring new balls on short patterns, have never rolled MOTIV before primarily a STORM/ROTO fan (in bag - Physix, Halo Pearl, 900 Global White Hot Badger and Hustle Ink).  What are recommendations aside from urethane for short patterns.  I have seen the Tank Blitz in action, was curious about the Hydra, Supra and Thrills.   What is the Motiv fanatics opinions.

Hydra, Supra and Thrill are all quick response balls, not my cup of tea for Short patterns.

The Blitz, and Covert Tank are great for shorter patterns. And if you have more volume, a Venom Shock works really well with a lower flare/short pin layout.

Depends on the volume and lane surface.

Higher volume means Blitz, Rogue Assassin, Forge, and Alpha Jackal could be in play, especially if it's on a lower friction lane surface

Lower volume and/or high friction lane surface means you're probably looking more at the Blitz and Covert Tanks and Venom series.

I've done very well with the Supra on the short/light Elements patterns.
