venom cobro or freestyle rush?
« on: February 07, 2018, 01:37:53 PM »
Have been using cobra since end of last year. Great ball I love it was looking to ball down from the cobra. Drilled freestyle rush same layout as cobra. I think freestyle hooks as much as cobra if not more. Maybe I haven't thrown enough games with it. Your thoughts?

Cobra is going to smoother and the Rush is going to be a bit more angular on the back end. It may appear that the Rush is hooking more because it's retaining more energy.

Do you think I made the right choice with rush or should I have gone with something else?

Are you looking for a ball down?

Ball down from the Rush would be a Combat Tank. Only thing I could think of.

Original Freestyle will be smoother and a tad weaker.  I think you may have to drill an original Freestyle significantly weaker to have true separation before resorting to urethane with the Combat Tank.

Outside Motiv you could look at:

Reactive:
Storm Tropical
Columbia Scout Reactive
Ebonite Turbo R
Track Tundra
Brunswick Rhino

Urethane (ish):
Hammer Blue Hammer remake
Hammer Purple Hammer Pearl
Brunswick BTU Pearl

I don't have experience with all of these, but they are in the same ballpark of what you are looking for.

For me, an original Freestyle with about 2.5-inch Pin-PAP would be a nice smooth and weaker reaction.
