Motiv Sigma Hybrid
« on: October 23, 2012, 12:27:11 AM »
I got a used one in my proshop today and I am have really struggled with House shot at Amf Country Lanes, the home of the shop I work at. Here's the Layout on the ball

On the Fresh, I shot 221 with a 4 - 9 and a 7 - 10. I didn't bowl good next game because the ball I think was burning up. I am overall impressed with the ball motion. I am debating to put this ball up to 4000 grit but I just got my Black Cruel in. Should I leave the Hybrid and shine up the Cruel with a simalar layout or vise versa ? Working the shop tomorrow so I can fix it. Thanks Motiv guys.

Vice-Versa... Polish Sigma, use Cruel for fresh

I believe the Cruel is going to be stronger than the Sigma and actually meant to be stronger. I'm not 100% positive, so wait for 1 of the Motiv people to step in. They are usually very good at responding to people's questions in the Motiv part of the forum.

I have both. The sigma is def a lot more smoother of a motion and has a little more recovery. The cruel is strong and angular if you drill it accordingly. I noticed that weaker drillings that try to smooth out the reaction dont work as well. The Cruel first and then the Sigma. If your still throwing it 15-17 mph then i would polish it first and then take it to a higher surface if the polish doesnt work.

Audric,

If it was me and where I see the Sigma Hybrid fall in Motiv's line is first ball on the fresh though I would think you would use a different layout on the Sigma Hybrid though you do not mention your stats.  So possibly that Hybrid layout is a good layout for you on fresh?

I use a stronger layout 2 Cruel for fresh and drilling a Primal Scream for transition under the 2 Cruel.  Just the way I roll the ball and how I look at different Motiv's in their line-up for strength.
