 Rev Rate 250. Tilt 20. Rotation 50.
 Speed off hand  18

 Review:
The new Motiv Villain is a fun ball to roll! Throw it to your target and watch it come back. Motiv has wrapped a very nice medium friction Coercion cover around the Sinister core. The Sinister core was used some time ago and had many fans. I was, and I am still a fan of this core. In the older balls with the Sinister core I had to use weaker layouts so the ball would not burn early, not with this one. I have put three different layouts on my Villains and got three distinct differences! I see more shape variations with layouts on this ball than any other ball I can think of. I believe this is because the medium friction cover allows for easy length even while having a strong core. The Villain fits between my Rising and SS in total hook. On our typical house shot during league I mostly cannot use my Rising due to the early read and total hook at box surface. I have not had any problem using my Villain at box during league, even when moving deep. It may not be the best choice for the third game but it is too much fun to put down!  The ball comes with 3000 surface but tunes easily. The Villains versatility will make it a must have strong benchmark or tournament ball. Motiv shows the Villain to be smooth on the back end but the ones I have used and drilled have been pretty angular.  I have used this ball at three different houses so far. One a medium house shot, one a wet house shot and a medium volume flat shot. The ball worked very well on all conditions. The Villain carry is excellent probably due to the entry angle and the ball continues nicely through the pins. I drilled a Villain for one of my better high speed bowlers and I’ve never seen him carry light hits as well as he does with tis ball.  I think Motiv has developed something special with the Villain. It moves differently than any non-polished ball I have ever used. The Villain will definitely be part of my house, tournament and National line up this year.

Summary:
The Villain will be an excellent strong benchmark or tournament ball.
This ball is very versatile with layouts and surface.
The Villain reads the mid lane while retaining energy for plenty of hit.
If you like to trust a ball the Villain is a great choice.

THis is just getting ridiculous; I’m sorry, but if I have to hype up every fricking ball that comes out, I’d rather not be on staff.

My integrity is more important than any ball that would ever be released period. Sad.

+1 to not being on staff.  Sounds way too much like a job.  Very happy to keep bowling a hobby.
Kind of noob when made this account so take advice with grain of salt.

You know, staffers CAN be honest. They just choose not to, mostly. Nevermind that saying every ball is a must have for no matter what condition you face, honesty is the best policy. Luke is proving this in spades. I know he's a Storm staffer. I also know his honest opinion. As much as I don't dig storm's stuff, I know I could get an honest opinion out of him.

I'd rather have an up front staffer review than one from someone pretending not to be on staff.

When I see a staffer give an "honest" opinion, I'll let up. Never in my life have I seen a staffer give a negative review for a bowling ball in a public forum. These are not honest reviews.

We all know some balls are junk. Heck, even Motiv knows when a ball is junk because it doesn't stay on the ball chart very long.

You can't expect a staffer to give a negative review. But to hype every ball like it's the best thing since, well...EVER, that's just bullshit.

MotivMags, JustinWi, Average Joe(not a staffer that I know of) and Luke all do a great job You call tell in their reviews when they really like a ball and also when one doesn't work that great for their game.

Besides, I don't think there are any balls that make it to market that are truly junk, but there are defiantly ones that aren't popular. Like the Forza Redline, not really a bad ball, but geez that thing was just too hideous to be seen using in public.

So he can express his opinion of the ball, but we can't express our opinion of his review?

Perhaps you need to check that document again.

Thank you for the kind words Milo. You are correct, I'm not on staff with any company and I truly enjoy not being affiliated with any since I love trying their different products. As many of you know, I get to throw Motiv, 900 Global and AMF and they all make great equipment. I truly believe that there are not bad pieces out there. (except for a couple of turds that no one liked lol)

When I don't have success with any particular ball is not because the ball is junk. It's because I'm using the ball on the wrong conditions or because I'm trying to get a reaction that the ball wasn't designed for and that is on me.

There are also times when the ball is not a good matchup for me. I think that not every ball is for every bowler and that's when the Pro Shop operator and the people who makes reviews comes into play to tell from our experience what works better for us, when does it works and what are the best conditions suited for the ball being reviewed.

I also don't like the cliches like "best ball I've ever thrown", "this ball is a must", "it hits like a truck", "strongest ball ever", "this ball will be in my bag", etc. I am tired of reading the same stuff over, and over and over again on almost any release, but the reality is that the staffers that are doing that are hurting their companies more than helping them creating more sales. When you recommend every ball to every bowler you are doing something wrong. You might get someone to buy a certain ball, but if the customer hates the ball he will probably never going to give that company another try.

Fortunately there are plenty of people who are doing great reviews (some staffers included) that provides good and truthful information that hopefully helps anyone who is looking for advice before buying a ball.
