Tank Rampage--Strongest Urethane ball I've ever thrown
« on: August 24, 2017, 04:34:35 PM »

This ball is the newest urethane introduction into the MOTIV line of bowling balls. The MOTIV Tank Rampage features the new Alchemy Urethane cover stock combined with the new Gear V2 core.  It's the strongest urethane ball I’ve ever thrown.  It makes a predictable move off the spot and because of the overall strength for a urethane ball it’s more versatile on a larger variety of conditions.  And most important, it has more continuation than any urethane ball I have ever thrown.

It will be a great fit in your bag on light/short oil patterns.

My Tank Rampage is laid out with the pin above the ring finger, the cg kicked slightly to the right and has extra hole just below my PAP.  The Tank Rampage is NOT like most urethane balls.  It read the front, but doesn’t seem to burn up.  Because of its overall hook potential makes a move and is continuous through the pin deck.  This ball is going to get A LOT of play for me on short oil patterns.

 Guys,

Urethane CAN be weaponized, but not usually if only one person is throwing it. It does create some carry down, but takes a while for one single person to do it, unless he's throwing directly in your breakpoint consistently.

And yes, the adjustments would be considered "strange" by many resin era bowlers who never experienced the urethane era. Some of them are directly opposed to resin adjustments.

But, if you're given the right condition, they work. Last season, I was averaging as high as 217 at one point. The lane man quit though, and screwed the machine up before he left ( as revenge I suppose), and it took them almost a month to figure it out and fix it. It affected my urethane shot FAR more than it did for resin, but they finally got it back like it had been, and I ended up at 210.

No, not great by today's standards, but not bad for a fat 56 year old guy bowling three games a week.

I agree it could perhaps be effective especially with an extended block or late block if have a whole team throwing it like with Korea or whatever.  Also you have enough hand where you can just flat out bowl people with resin without having to mess up their shot.  I love urethane but at least with my style it definitely has a lower ceiling than with resin.  I also find however urethane has a higher floor for me so it definitely has its place.  Making over/under largely disappear automatically makes a ball valuable.  If I had more hand probably would hardly throw reactives.
